After practice colors are more vibrant, the filters through which we view reality are reduced and one can delight and find beauty in the smallest of things. We can have insights at the most unexpected times and our consciousness appears to bifurcate into the observer and the performer. Our ego appears to wither away as our self importance diminishes , we begin to realize what an utter asshole we've been our entire lives (every body does), that's the part that sticks when we stop practicing. Once ya see the city lights there ain't no going back.
It's called the path and millions have trod it, it's good to have a guide to show ya the way and where the hazards and dangers lie, also to point out the sights along the way.
BTW If yer older smoking dope and practice work well, for older people it seems to accelerate the brain sculpting process, not so much for younger folks, they best stay clear of the evil weed, if they practice.
