Ya its a good choice thing to do.....I had some bud worms and later mold in the last two years crop...
I always cut way around mold...Its seems wasteful but then again burying some whole buds(with a few seeds in them) in my compost
is what lead to that strain I have currently that starts by itself.... and finishes quite early....
It stands to reason that land race strains propagate exactly that way....a whole plant female grows... matures... dies.... falls over as whole buds with seeds in them....they over winter ..start to rot in spring and sprout perfect conditions for those seeds contained within the buds to grow landrace copies of the mother and father.....

1st one of the tall and dangly ones...it lost 4 feet off the top but is still pretty tall..nice thing about these is they are not that leafy and fairly easy to trim.. these that started by themselves have not been trimmed or groomed but rather let grow

2nd shot is a close up of the dangly one above....
3rd is a lower bud off of one of the more mature plants... could be ready as early as 3rd week sept...

I had 8 come up in one area of my compost alone in about 2 square feet....

Im the king of late flowering. I cant ever find a strai To finish early unless an autoflower. Im not sure what my problem is. Seeds of the same strain and from the same mother all flowering weeks apart and of course mine is the latest

I moved all of my timewarps indoors on Friday - and got hit by a torrential rain early Saturday morning! Even before the rain they were too moist and got bud rot in a few places. Lost a few ounces of spoiled bud but I got the rest squeezed into the tent. I'm guessing another 10 days or so till harvest.
