Hey Cash_Crop, sorry I missed this message earlier, I was going to mention, if you do decide to try and clone in a glass of water, what will speed up the plant in putting out roots is to aerate the water at least once a day, this also will help keep the water sterile if you change it once per day, all you really need is a gallon bottle of water with a screw on lid, fill it up about 1/2 way or less 1/4 and then just shake the bottle up vigorously for a couple mins or whatever, don't make it so full that you hurt yourself ha ha, but this is just an quick simple solution if you don't have a aquarium aerator and airstone, this is just for taking small amounts at maybe 2 cuttings at a time to where you don't really need to run a cloner or use a large amount of energy to make it work.
If you do decide to try cloning in a window you will need to add extra light to the day to keep the Veg cycle going, and it's better if the roots are shielded from the light maybe in a tinted or darker container, roots can get skittish around too much light, hence why nobody really grows anything in clear containers otherwise, etc. But back to the window thing, that's kindf why people get lights and a room setup, because you've already got to have lights even if you are supplementing with sunlight to keep the Veg cycle going, if the veg cycle is halted then that line of clones is then jeopardized from being tempted to turn on and start making mature hormones and growth, this is a danger for perpetual grows and so forth, people that depend of a flip of a certain genetic and so on because it can lead to several various complications, possibly hermie traits develop eventually from a cloning line, bad news, so the light cycle is very important 18/6 to17-7 is the light cycles I've used so far on my clones/seedlings both work well.
When I water anything of mine be it seedlings, clones or fully mature plants I make sure the water is aerated some before usage, and I would recommend a water aeration tank for other soil growers that would like to add more life to their plants when they get watered, because non aerated stale water is not as life giving, it only sustains the plants it does not have the oxygen needed for expansive growth, larger leaves, denser buds, etc.
So yeah if you only have a few plants a few jugs of water might be all that you'd need to get by on, but it you want to get serious about watering, I'd setup a more semi permanent setup for complete saturation within the water, and more attached oxygen to the water molecules, which enhances growth, similar to the way rainfall works, rain is highly aerated as it falls from clouds into thin air, nature knows best, oxygen bonded water molecules offer the best hydration.
But anyways man, glad to be able to offer some assistance to you and get you loaded up with some tips and tricks before your next cloning attempt, and I do hope that you will have much success in your future grows, I was certainly glad to help out and was pleased to see your enthusiasm and appreciation towards everyone and our responses, you've been very kind and receptive, glad to have been able to help you friend, take care til next time, or til another response pops up, ha ha, I'm always around so all good, next time can be 10mins from now, lmao, but no man we are glad you can here for help, just look at the responses, you've got it in the bag now.
