Hi .

This run i want to use organic method.
Mr.canucks grow on youtube use gaia green and was looking pretty simple compare to my older organic grow.

I went for gaia green premix amendment .
There 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 .

I mix the amendment with my old promix and some dolomite lime start with the 4-4-4 60ml a gallon off soil each 7 gallon 2 cup 5gallon 1cup and half mix trought the medium.

I want to use a water only method ...
Last grow I use dry fert with great succes and still drying i want to compare this grow to my last.

If any one use gaia green and want to help im open .

Im going to top dress 30 ml a gallon every month and plan on veg 1month half half in the beggining of flowering then 75% bloom 25% 4-4-4 for the last top dress

I start a tea this morning to help the soil get started next tea will be after the topdress. I use the 60 ml of 4-4-4 and half cup of shrimp compost left over.

I wouldn't even bother adding 25% 4-4-4 in last feed and would do this in my first feed of flowering instead.. The last month should be water only do let the plant deplete from ut available soil nutrient since there is still nitrogen in the 2-8-4 (1,82% insoluble nitrogen) which mean will be slow releas thru decomposition. Nutrient need to decompose in order to be available. I've been all about organic soil growing and have more then 20 years experience. And have and horticulture diploma. Organic is more forgiving. My suggestion would be to add some great white mychorize for the beneficial bacteria and the thricoderma that are within the mix, they will help in the breaking down of nutrient and make them aivailable faster to your plant without been harmful. Remeber to keep the last month for water only no nuts added for nutrient depletion and awesomeness .

EDIT: I misread your post...opps

Since he is growing in coco coir I think it would be tough to not have a nitrogen deficiency if all you add at the beginning of flower is 2-8-4. Which is why Mr Canuck starts at a 70-30 mix thru veg then top dresses or transplants at 50-50 and then 30-70.

You also get a larger mix of different organic stuff by mixing the two fertilizers together. Is this good? maybe, maybe not.

Just make sure you don't water to runoff with this method. I don't think its brought up very much in his series.

No run-off? What about the salts or is there none with this method?
Organic soil doesnt create a salt built up deficiency. Nutrients usually breaks down into assimilable nutrient to the plant as decoposition happens. Its a feed the soil not the plant. (the living soil will then feed the plant). You can had lots of organic fertilizer to you soil and it will not burn your plant like most fertilizer used for hydroponic will. But an un balance in nutrient can create an nutrient '' element'' lock out.. So of course. Like mention. You don' t want to flush out biodiversitie of micro organism and available nutient. As ut would cause your soil to increase micro-organismes to reproduce to bounce back and help with the decomposition of matter in order to have the nutruent in the fertilizer to be available for the plant to feed on... In the same reason you do not make a comete water change in a home aquarium... There would be no poind of growi g in organique soil if there isnt any organism to break down organic matters and mineral.

@swedsteven Thanks man!

I just started using ProMix BX with Gaia Green 4-4-4 and PH my water at 6.5.

I know Mr. Canucks Grow is around PH 6.2 - 6.8 but he uses coir.

My plants are in day 15 of veg and are doing pretty good but the leaves just seem a little on the light green side so I wondered if is maybe a PH thing. It's probably just me over-thinking things LOL!

Mine took 2 week to start green up a bit but i did 2 compost tea to help the microbe and fungi to thive and start making those nutrient avaible.

Dont worry they will green up and promix as dolomite lime in it to buffer the ph it last a good 6 month.
