I only got a few customers using LED's everyone else that upgraded went with DE systems. They went with Fluence Spyders that work pretty good and do same a Gavitas but that was about 2.5 years ago and they paid $2300 for each array.How's it going folks? Haven't been around much lately, just sitting back and watching the shit show unfold if ya know what I mean

Ya I know DE is a safe bet, but Im convinced LED is the way to go. Less energy, longer life...
I use both at once.......quite happy.
For smaller scale maybe but when you have 200 lights to replace. Back then it was $585 for a Gavita set or $2300 for Fluence even if they could get it for $2000 landed there would be no way to recover the cost of the LED's with the price of weed dropping and they told me their calculations on AC/Power savings were not really a factor. I think those LED were closer to 900W in consumption.
Well at 2k a fixture I wouldnt go the LED route either so Im hoping I can find something for roughly half of that depending on how much assembly is required.
The cost of heating and cooling vs the extra $1500 per panel x200 = $300000 could never been recovered in the current price per LB. DE bulbs last about 1.5-2 years. Same with power consumption. Just didn't make financial sense. Now if weed was $3000/lb that's a different story.
In certain states you can get a rebate or subsidy for going LED. Keep in mind LEDs were never made explicitly for the commercial market. They were primarily used by NASA as a safe alternative to HID for growing in their particular work environment. You can get an HLG fixture for under $1000CAD and an HLG equivalent for around $700CAD which doesn't put it too far off of a good name brand 1000W DE.

Remember it's very easy to save money when you don't have R & D to worry about and copy others work. These sellers are just reflipping lights off Alibaba. HLG started with Alibaba and grew tired of their BS and lies and opened there own lines with samsung and offers CSA, UL, and ETL standards which are highly regarded for insurable products if your light ever accidentally started a fire or other issue.
I'm comparing the products. Same chips, same drivers, less money. Pretty cut and dry. The rest doesn't concern me or most purchasing these I'm not a seller or business owner looking to sell them.
I grabbed a 480W from Kingbrite on alibaba for just under $600 to my door including duties (they were $25). Took a week to get here from China.
