Just snagged that UVA bar. Thanks for that, fellas. I'm really looking forward to it.
2-3 QBs on each end and 9 strips on the bars in the middle??? How about that???Can I use this for my lights???View attachment 4415979 Looks like it would be really good for some strips!!!

@Stephenj37826 has me squared away with lights and heatsinks... I might just make something that looks like that frame in a lighter version...The aluminum rail looks pretty solid. You may be better off rethinking. Unless you really want strips that would be pretty cumbersome to install and remove for cleaning. You would have a tough time knocking your head on that raising your head out of the canopy, unless you hung it really high. As well the weight and what your mounting it on, can it support. In my opinion what you want could be better accomplished. On another note I have seen strip builds that look decent. Just make sure you make a good decision that your happy with. That's all that matters.
Before I had 2 QB88 260 kits ( triple in length ) mounted inplace on those thinner QB96e fixture. I was always hitting my head on it. In a sense I am happy mixing the fixtures as the thinner profile of the qb96e really makes a difference for access.

If you are going with QB boards my recommendation is to put SIX of them in a 5x5 and ignore all the people that say four is just fine.Nice man. I'm saving up for the new HLG light, gonna stick it in a 5x5 I think.
