Shaking weed to trim it?

So a friend tells me he met a kid who dries complete plants, then rough cuts it and shakes it in a cardboard box to "trim" it. I think I heard of this before as well to be honest. How prevalent is this style? The weed was good, hard nugs that resembled closely trimmed buds.....'cept no crystals on the outside. But I tell you, there are many days I feel like I would do this rather than properly trim.

Try it. I wouldn't personally do it, but maybe it would work somewhat for someone else. I kind of enjoy trimming mine. A person puts a lot of time and money into growing them, I'd hate to fuck mine up by trying it.

Its the same concept as trimbag. You still have to hand trim because it wont get everything.

I finally bought a trimming machine and fucking love it. Best investment ever.

I'm too small for machines, only a pound a month. Worst six hours of my month I tell ya. After 20 years of growing I have zero love for trimming anymore. Good music, good weed, allergy medicine and a massage afterwards gets me through it. I got bad feet so the 5 hours of standing kill me.

I don't think it is my style though, I don't trim that close. Some of the weed I am seeing it looks like they are trimming right into the bud. Like they are trying to give the bud a crew cut. I give mine 70's porn bush trim.

I don't know strain or whatever, but did you cut early, or did that plant have problems growing?

I had a plant look like that after a problem grow. It's still a great CBD high, but it definitely wasn't grown to it's potential.

Idk if you defol, but doing that through flower saves bank on time come trimming

Don’t defoliate, use a tent. Once they get going don’t have access to most of it.

Why do you trim standing up?

I’ve tried sitting and don’t like it, plus I collect leaf to make hash. Standing has always been most efficient for me

I too prefer to retain those crystal castles. Guilty of retro 70's bush trim during the first week of drying.

Um...all I have to say is shake a dry plant in a box and lose your tricombs....sounds smart....I would rather trim wet using the bowl and have some stick to it rather than shake a dry plant......

Sounds like sifting, i agree dont know how shaking bud in a box trims it without blades

What did u buy? How much do u run though it a crop? Wet or dry?

I ran 15lbs of outdoor wet through the bowl in 4 hours. Buds turned out great, very strong, and had most of the tricombes.

I recently saw someone recommend the cannabrush for trimming. Its just a silicone brush like they use in kitchens but I imagine the silicone is stiffer. I tried using a silicone brush from my kitchen and it didnt work at all.

If you grow your buds well, trimming shouldn't take too long
