Advice on hanging carbon filter from beam?

So i’ve got to hang a carbon filter from a beam in my flower room.
I’ve just been exhausting it outside since no neighbors so not worried about smell, and can’t really smell it outside anyway, but beside the point.

I’m going to vent the hot air into the living quarters of the house. So i’m going to put the carbon filter on. But want some ideas how best to do so.

I was going to get chain link, and wrap that around filter. So it’s a loop with one chain link hanging straight, do two of those, front and back. ( If that makes sense) Then hang the chain link on bike holders that i’ll drill into a beam in the ceiling.

Is that silly, is there a better solution ?

Trying to do this tomorrow.

Just don’t want to give the beam way to much weight or idk don’t want the ceiling to fall or something ahah

Thanks

No set it on the outside of the grow room just have negative air pressure. Please tell me you guys know what I'm talking about.
No idea why the facepalm.

No i don’t have floor space for the carbon filter. Nor do i want to be stepping over a big filter every day
It works way better if higher than lower.

Are you saying have a carbon filter in the ground.. run ducting from that to my fan... In the middle of my room? Seems very waste of space and not very efficient

Well I did get a bungee and have tried to hang it and honestly it’s being a pain in the ass cause my filter appears shorter than where my hook from the beam can reach.

If i did a plan B and got another exhaust fan. Had that in the room with carbon filter. also filtering the air in the room then using my fan on ceiling to extract air out?

Would that be decent non smelly ?

Think if i got a shelf or a wall mount shelf.

Put a 6in fan and carbon filter on the shelf. like head height? Then that will maybe scrub the smell in the room.
Then just use my fan set up without a carbon filter and exhaust that warm air down stairs . Which shouldn’t be too too smelly.

Pipe Strap also sounds pretty strong . I’ll see what the stores got today
They make a heavy duty 24 gauge version that I recommend, the other is 28 gauge. Since you will use two straps you can double the load rating. Make sure the screws have pan heads or they could pull thru the holes. Always smart to fold the cut ends over to avoid sharps. To cut it just bend it back and forth several times at a larger hole. Use the smaller holes to screw it up.

That’s sounds very good and sturdy

Where the beam is that i put my hook is too low for carbon filter to fit. Can’t screw it in any farther into the beam, the filter won’t match up with the fan correctly at all. And the next beam is like 6 feet away.

So might try and do a separate fan and filter elsewhere in the room and leave this fan exhausting.

Think it will be too challenging to hang it from that specific spot.

Screw in a 3x2 length to the joists so you can mount your hooks where you want.
