I'm about a month or so into my second 12/12 from seed grow, and I would say if you have a lot of seeds it's worth it. It's also a good idea to be careful about which strain you choose. First consideration is how tall the strain gets/how much she stretches, second how long she'll take to transition.
My first attempt, a Cherry Bomb x unknown sativa was about 2 1/2 feet tall when I chopped her 3 days ago, but she developed a nitrogen toxicity, so yield suffered. The nodes were 6 or 7 inches apart.
I'm trying out two other strains right now, both have that same unknown sativa father (my next door neighbour really fucked over the entire neighbourhood this year) and what I'm now pretty sure was a Quicksilver cross. The mother plant only grew to 4 feet tall, and she started budding last week of July first week of August, done last week of September. Her daughter is only about 6 to 8 inches tall, but she's budding well. I'll post a pic tonight after lights on.
She was popped a week after the others, but she started flowering first, so if you have an early flowering strain that might cut down on how long it takes.
