12/12 from seed to start

I have 6 plants growing in my 48x24x60 tent running a 1000 watt LED light system. I am kind of tempted to throw another seedling in, right before I flower my bigger plants just to see what happens. Does anybody have any experience growing a seedling 12/12 from week 1 to harvest? Any feedback is appreciated!

From the research I've done *and I've done a lot because I'm working with a small amount of space to grow in so I want the most yield without taking up too much space or time* growing a seed from 12/12 is gonna take about the same time as your avg auto-flower.. about 2 to 2 and a half months from start to finish. I'm honestly thinking about either just outright growing auto-flower strains, or just doing 4-6 feminized seeds with a 12/12 to get the most out of my space with the least amount of time.

Thanks for the feedback everybody! I really appreciate the input. I'm germinating a Black Diamond to throw in the corner

You can get much more than 10g per plant. I averaged 1.5-2 oz (dry) per plant 12/12 from seed. 4x4 tent with LED and promix. First few plants were closer to 1/2oz, but once I got things figured out it worked very well.

They'll start showing sex around 2-4 weeks, and then normal flowering time from then on. Worth it if you are low on space, or have decent numbers to work with

It can become a bit of a pain with many different strains at different stages of development, and you'll go through a ton of seeds. Good idea to have somewhere to keep mothers and root clones in case you find something you want to keep around. When I started off I just kept them in the same 4x4, and took them out a few hours before lights on and let them get light from one of my windows to keep them vegging.

Don't be put off by hearing 10g per plant or less. That is just not true unless you do something wrong or your setup/nutes are not good enough. Start a couple seeds every couple weeks if you want perpetual harvest.

I'm about a month or so into my second 12/12 from seed grow, and I would say if you have a lot of seeds it's worth it. It's also a good idea to be careful about which strain you choose. First consideration is how tall the strain gets/how much she stretches, second how long she'll take to transition.
My first attempt, a Cherry Bomb x unknown sativa was about 2 1/2 feet tall when I chopped her 3 days ago, but she developed a nitrogen toxicity, so yield suffered. The nodes were 6 or 7 inches apart.
I'm trying out two other strains right now, both have that same unknown sativa father (my next door neighbour really fucked over the entire neighbourhood this year) and what I'm now pretty sure was a Quicksilver cross. The mother plant only grew to 4 feet tall, and she started budding last week of July first week of August, done last week of September. Her daughter is only about 6 to 8 inches tall, but she's budding well. I'll post a pic tonight after lights on.
She was popped a week after the others, but she started flowering first, so if you have an early flowering strain that might cut down on how long it takes.

Im not trying to put him off or be an ass, not my intention, i think you just got a little excited and totally forgot that the OP is growing in a 4x2 with 6 plants that have not even begun flowering yet.

10 grams is logical considering he might only be able to fit a half gallon pot in a shady corner & really its not that big of a deal because like i said, better than an empty corner.

4x2 is plenty of space

Assuming that LED is really close to 1000 watts equivalent. I can put 12 plants SOG in 1 gallon pots and harvest from an oz to 1.5 oz each, dried and trimmed, just based on my experience.

OP didnt mentioned what size of pots the other 6 plants though. If he's using 5 gallon then there might not be enough room to properly light any extra plants.

Yes there are many variables, but still 10g per plant means something is wrong and it's not the 12/12 lighting schedule. I don't think I got excited, lol. 4x2 is enough, as last poster mentioned. Mine averaged 3-5ft tall and 1.5-2oz dry/trimmed. If he ONLY did 6, and used maybe 3 gallon pots I don't think it would be too bad. Have to keep in mind you'll always be switching out finished plants for a new seedling and can harvest every week if timed correctly (maybe not with only 6). Smaller pots and more plants would be even better.

Sticking it in a shady corner is not good though. Try to raise it up a bit so it's more even with the others, and lower it as it gets bigger. I'm using QBs and don't really have a shady corner. Might be a tight fit with 6 others, but a bit of pruning/tying and moving things around often will help.
