that is a polyploid....it is not a desirable trait, you do not get more bud, or more branches, you get a lot more leaves, which is never a desirable trait...the buds off of a true poly are at least half leaf.
a polyploid is basically a gamete that wanted to become twins and never separated. in any animal species polyploidy is fatal, usually in the womb. in plants, they may or may not live, but they are not healthy, and usually they and any offspring do not thrive and die off pretty quickly
plants do not become polyploid, and they always remain polyploid if that's what they were..it's a genetic trait, not a thing they grow out of....
