So my friend use to grow garlic bud back in the 90's.
It had a good amount of sativa if I recall. Big Christmas trees. Not like garlic chem. More like garlic and kitchen spice incense. Best I can describe.
Is that the same one you are talking about?

No, Melvanetics has a NL5 pheno from 89 Sensi stock they call Garlic F4, but I know the Garlic Bud of which you speak, though Ive never had the pleasure to try it. I cant swear to it, but I think Dominion Seed Company also has possession of NL5 Garlic pheno cut
Not sure but I think she used Male genetics from British Columbia Seed Company some years back. Ive also heard BCSC are not as good as they used to be. She got in before their genetics got screwed some way, but I haven't personally grow any BCSC gear. She probably of course kept the original male.

I'd pay 200 for it, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
My biggest reason for not complaining about prices is bc usually when your paying that much, I've had much better luck getting what the seller said it was. I'm not saying paying more means you wont be screwed but I've had better luck with high dollar cuts then I have with trading and stuff

NOOF Cut, is a cut that was found in a pack of 1989 Sensi Seeds pack. Theres a reason they've kept it around too. Love to have a cut of it too.
Swami Organic Seeds has the Original NL5 cut, BEFORE it was taken to Holland.
He has it crossed to Nevils 88 LTD Release NL5/Haze, which Nevil could have used the Original Cut NL5 vs the Hybrid NL5 he made, but that is only speculation.
But all the 80s stuff from Nevil/Seed Bank, Super Sativa Seed Club-Cultivators Choice-Flying Dutchmen, Sensi Seeds and some others all had the best of the best genes. Sensi got all of Nevils genes in 1990 when Nevil quit.
Theres no question at all that I would much rather have the genetics that were available in the 80s, and 90s vs anything after the 90s.

I guess there are a lot claiming this and that about Northern Lights. But I go from memory and from all the beautiful Northern Lights pictures that used to be in the back section of High Times, before they screwed that mag up!

The original Northern Lights#1 from back in early 90's, even though it was around earlier, was a stellar strain! And Northern Lights#5 just as nuts, but different.
Northern Lights#1 has very dark green fat leaves, #5 has more of a normal leaf but on longer leaf stems.
#1 is super frost beast with that neon green bud with bright red/orange hairs. And had a furry appearance. #5 had super resin covered perfectly shaped buds. More popcorn size with larger end buds. But all the buds matured at the same time on #5 and even the smallest bottom buds were fully developed.
As far as taste the #1 had a very strong skunky, piney, hashy flavor and was extreme! #5, was hashy, piney, and skunky as well, it also had a delicious berry component.
Both are amazing. #1 having the knock your dick in the dirt heavy narcotic paranoid blow. While#5 had a super powerful experience, but was all smiles, full relaxation, peace and comfort like no other strain still has. Closest, maybe an expertly grown cookie. But not a sleepy strain just like you surfed, ran, or worked out really hard. Then come home and get a hot shower and kick back kind of feeling.

Never had NL1 but the NL5 I had in 90s had a menthol skunk to it. Very relaxing but at the time I had White widow cut from a visit to Amsterdam brought back that was much better.

Nl2 cut in Oregon pretty good, loud like an astringent, was told it was crossed with Nl1 to make the Nl5. Heard the 1 brought the power and the 2 for pest resistance. Just from the old heads. Like Jaeger being a purple pheno of Hindu although some say it's purp kush x Hindu. I remember the good Nl5 being strong not loud. Kinda miss it myself

I was buying seeds since the early 80s, and had many of the best strains Nevil, Super Sativa Seed Club, Sensi Seeds, Cultivators Choice, Flying Dutchmen .
I had a strain
Sensi NL5 x Haze x Skelly Hashplant x Sk1 in the 90s, that was he best stuff I ever saw. Been smoking since 1966.... Was done in 45 days. Pure paranoid buzz, that would drive your blood sugar into the dirt, and make many people turn green, and get sick for hours. Lungbuster, and wasn't safe to drive, as it would also make you have temporary vision loss, and youd be to busy coughing to try and drive.
I gave my partner 500 clones to put on his 1000 acre farm in Lincoln county Ky, and he got busted, and ratted me out. They got me with another 600 clones, and I also got charged for manufacturing the 500 I gave him. He was also quite a bit older than me. I was 39, he was 71.
So I spent from 1997-2009 with the Feds. 10-Life Mandatory Minimum sentence.
I first started growing with HID n 78, when they first came out.
The first HID/1000w Halide was from the Navy Sub program, but was very fragile, and they wouldn't warranty it would make it in 1 piece in shipping.
6 months they came out with the much more rugged 1000w Super Nova, and Octa Garden.

Tell me about it! I got 2 unrooted clones recently and they have mold INSIDE the stems. Super purple hard woody stems also, not ideal clone canidates at all. Really it depends on who you get clones from on there.
