Maybe he needed to die, I don't know and don't necessarily fault Trump for it. But I do fault him for not notifying congress so they could be prepared for the fallout from his actions. As much as Trump has made everything about him and his cult's bubble not being popped, we (anyone who is not drinking his kool aid) are not at war with the President, and it is very insulting and dangerous for him to act the way he is towards 51% (at least) of the population.
