The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

Would the average grower notice a difference in quality and yield if these knockoff quantum boards from kingbrite and meijiu had lower bin diodes or such ?
I'm having a terrible time choosing between either kingbrite quantum boards with 660 730 and UV or bridgelux eb gen 2 strips.... didnt think spending money could be so difficult :/
Take a look at Budget led. They are out of Michigan. I have 2 of their 250 watt series 2 rspecs. 3 year warranty on the boards. And the speak English if there is a problem. Their lights are awesome!

So I've been looking at kingbright and about to pull the trigger on a new light. I was looking at getting one of their 320w lights for a 2x4x5 tent. Was going to just order the one for 175, but was wondering if anyone could tell me if the other 320w were any better?
Check out Budget LED. I just got 2 250 watt 3 series Rspecs. They are out of Michigan. Lights are fantastic!

Hey what's going on growmies I'm jumping back in this game with you guys soon but there's so many new options with lights these days that my heads spinning with all the new choices (been 10 years since I've grown indoors). After contemplating CMH since HID is what I'm used to plus it's still winter so the added heat wouldn't be an issue I've decided against it because I'll be switching to LED in summer anyways to account for the heat factor and I figured I should just get acquainted with the new tech ASAP since the results don't seem to be any better or worse than HID from what I've seen (correct me if I'm wrong).

Anywho, I'm thinking 4 or 5 of these in my 5x5x6 tent. https://m.alibaba.com/product/62438203883/Novedades-2020-Meijiu-Vertical-Farming-Led.html
Is this enough or too much? Also is it worth it to get a veg set and a bloom set or should I just save money and get an all around spectrum?

Hey Zoo,

I'm not familiar with all the current options, however, I ordered the Fotops from Meijiu some months ago and i must say that I was very happy with their service and shipping speed. I went for the 3000k with rspec for veg and bloom. Used them so far for a couple of weeks and very happy with them. This is the first time I use LED therefore I have no references for other LED lights. The pictures below are 16 days after the first day she saw light.

Probably it is better to use a different spectrum for veg but I first wanted to try this and save some money.

Please know that I'm new to this as well and other people can give you much better insight.

Greetings.

3 sets. Those are 2 board kits that are 240w each, you only need around 600w for a 5x5.
Was very happy with my meijiu order. Prepare to likely pay $100 for more for shipping if you haven't got a quote yet.

I was thinking 5 or 4 because of the better canopy coverage and would just crank them down a bit if that's too much light because I don't want any darkness on the edges. Can I grow big bushes with these? Is the penetration there yet with LEDs?

Also since you seem to know a lil something @fragileassassin what's your thought on getting two sets of boards. One for veg spectrum and one set for flower. Is it worth the cost of two sets of boards? Can't seem to find a definitive answer to this question via googling, everyone's got mixed opinions.

Now now let's not under quote his needs @fragileassassin if a 4X4=16ft2 and needs 450-500watts,
Then it stands that a 5X5=25ft2 will need 650-750watts.
600 would probably be more than fine, but if you want a real comparison, there it is.
If going off the ol' 30w/sq ft, 16X30=480 25X30=750.

Get 3 sets of 2 boards at 240ec.
That's a nice 720w of light you'll be able to hang over 3 spots at different heights. Such a bonus over a single fixture. You'll wanna custom build them though using individual single heatsinks on each board rather than the double length heatsinks for 2 boards. You'll want to space the boards about 20" apart.

As for your heat lacking, an oil drip heater will solve all those problems with almost no power and safe reliable heat.

Sry i fell asleep watching the new terminator. I guess I really am getting old LOL!!
@Airwalker16 the 600w I said is like minimum to get something done, which is why said 3 kits which will give a nice bump up passed that.
A cheap oil radiator heater will keep a 5x5 nice and toasty. I have an $80 one in my 22x25 basement and itll keep the whole thing 10-15 degrees warmer down in the teens.

This will depend on you budget and needs and how you want to do things. I personally have 2 completely independent setups for flower and veg with 3500k + 660nm red led boards for flower and 5000k T5s for veg. If you have the budget to min/max like this, its the way to go imo, but take a hard look at what you could do with that same ~$300 to improve other aspects of your setup first. Like if doing hydro id spend that money on a chiller or a nice constant ph/ec monitoring system and stuff like that.
If you were planning on buying 5 kits anyway, maybe go ahead and still do. Get 3 in 3000k or 3500k and 2 sets in like 5000k

I also went with the bunch of boards run slightly lower. 16 boards on 4x 320w drivers. maxed out they would run up to 2000w, but I run them at 1300w total. It wasnt quite enough for the 10x10 i tried it on first go around, but I still yielded several pounds from 8 plants under them that spread out. You could cram 5 kits in there and run them down at like 75% if you wanted to.

I also agree with @Airwalker16 walker about doing single heatsinks. You can ask the rep you talk to when you make your order for individual heatsinks instead. Thats what I did. I broke down what I needed and told her the exact parts I wanted instead of buying their ready kits. They sold me 16 boards pre-mounted to individual heatsinks, the 4 320w meanwell drivers, 4 digital dimmers with remotes, 6 or 8 power cords, and 10 pairs of ratchet hangers. I bought my own hook up wire and wago connectors from amazon. All in with shipping and materials to mount them, i spent around $1200.

Here's my flower setup now.

nah just the same 10x10. We snagged it for like $250 i think? I havent had any complaints about it. The zippers arent the most amazing ive seen, but its all metal zippers and corners. With all the light weight in the center, I had to add a 2x2 support leg to the center 4 way, but im not sure any quality tent that didnt have a center leg would support all the weight of those heatsinks.
