Science, and TISSUE ANALYSIS says FLUSHING IS A MYTH. As OldMedUser said, it will not remove excess the plant tissue f its been overfed.
FAKE NEWS.
The people/company I refer to is Hydro Gardens, and they have been making Plant Specific Fertilizers since the 70s, and fert in general since 1964. I will believe them, until someone proves otherwise, WITH TISSUE ANALYSIS.
Its also Fake News to starve weed of Nitrogen in flowering. In reality it needs ever increasing amounts.
All Nitrogen is to a plant is Protein. Humans eat protein, and turn it into Nitrogen. Plants simply bypass this step.
How s it logical when we know a plant is going to grow more than it ever has during flowering????
Its going to in many occasions stretch up to 2-5x its size when first flowered. If you were working out, and trying to GROW, would you reduce Protein/Nitrogen???
Add on to it building BUDS, terpenes, metabolism. And people say to limit Nitrogen?? Its ALL about balance. Feed to much Nitrogen, and YOU WILL RETARD FLOWERING. Don't give enough, and the plant will go into Negative Nitrogen Balance. When you workout, it is crucially important to stay in POSITIVE NITROGEN BALANCE, OR WE GO CATABOLIC, WHEN WE WANT TO STAY ANABOLIC. Catabolic means you are using yourself for energy, which is exactly what you do not want to do.
We all know what Protein means in Latin??? OF FIRST IMPORTANCE.. Protein is responsible for cell division, immune system, growth, repair, and normal maintenance
Also Mg/Sulfur are crucially important. Tissue analysis also say weed needs a Mg/Sulfur boost in weeks 5-6 in an 8 weeks flowering strain. Some strains also like extra Iron throughout, but is not the rule.
Tissue analysis says an 8 weeks flowering strain needs a MPK - 0-52-34 from weeks 2.5-4.
Tissue analysis also says weed likes basically the same ratio of Phosphorus, as it does Nitrogen, and TA also says weed like 2x the amount of Potassium vs Nitrogen.
They should be fed a basic supplement throughout, with extra MPK, and Mg/Sulfur, as stated above. PPM should be reduced in weeks 7-8 to around 60% strength.
Tissue analysis says weed likes a 19.5-20-39 ratio, and then its up to you to determine PPM.
I/we use Chem Gro, and Promix BX, and you have to be very careful using this stuff in soil, as its made for soilless, but that does not change the fact weed likes the ratios stated regardless of nutrient source.
Chem grow basic formula is 4-20-39.
Then 15.5-0-0/Cacium Nitrate is added to make 19.5-20-39. Epsom Salts is used for Magnesium, and Sulfur.
You can also use 20- 20 - 20 and 0-0- 50/Potassium Sulfate for extra Potassium, and Sulfur. This is what we use outside, but have also had great success using it in containers, but you have to add more eventually as with container growing, if watered alot, will leach the nutrients out of the container after a while. But it doesn't take much
Mg, and Sulfur are critically important throught, but are extra important in weeks 5-6 in an 8 weeks strain, as Sulfur helps with Terpene Production.
I myself like Calcium Nitrate for my source of Calcium, and Nitrogen. 15.5-0-0 vs Cal Mag. I then use Epsom Salts for extra sulfur, and magnesium, after all Epsom Salts magnesium sulfate.
