Well the nice thing about Ali is most vendors will put a lower total price on the invoice if you ask em to. Just don’t get greedy or customs will do some sniffing. Three boxes of stuff for $20 doesn’t add up. They put $87 invoice total for my recent build :D

My apologies if I'm posting on the wrong thread, just know that this thread have the people with the knowledge to my questions.

Can someone guide me into the right direction for picking LED protection glasses? Using the fotops lm301b and have the idea when googling for glasses I only find glasses made for blurple lights. In addition do you guys work on your plants while lights on, as I am, or is this anyway not good? Now I'm using normal sunglasses but after some time in the grow room I always feel a bit drowsy and sometimes even a little headache, ventilation is fine btw. Thanks guys!

UV 400 is the category which blocks all light rays with wavelengths up to 400 nanometers. This covers all of UVA and UVB rays.

Hey everyone ! Just wanted to write a small review on the 240w kingbrite 301b quantum board kit.
I recieved my lights within 5 days to the east coast. Would have been much quicker if dhl delivered in my area ! The package actually sat at USPS for 2 days...

Once the package arrived I quickly started unboxing both kits. The packaging was top notch and the directions are easy enough to follow on the Alibaba site. Once put together I hung the 2 kingbrite quantum boards next to a 240w hlg kit. There are some minor visual differences between the two companies. First the hlg heatsink is a bit thicker ! The fins are 50% larger then on the kingbrite.
Second thing I've noticed is the leds are going the opposite direction as opposed to the hlg kit.

After leaving the 3 lights going in the 5x5 for a few hours I went and checked the temp of the heatsinks. The kingbrite definitely gets hotter then the hlg kit but not to the point of burning anything out.

Using my phone lux meter I've come to the conclusion that there is no difference in light intensity between the hlg and kingbrite boards.

I have now been running these kits for a bit over a month now and love them ! I'm actually ordering 4 more this coming week !

How much mm are the heatsinks from kingbrite? I went for Meijiu because they upgraded the heatsink from 10mm to 15mm. However if kingbrite also has 15mm I will definitely go for them with my next order as everyone here talks about kingbrite.

Great review. I urge anyone in the US who are sizing up options to also have a look at hlgs qbV1 boards. No they are not lm301bs but they would be top bin lm561c and they are so cheap right now that you can almost get a 4 board hlg fixture for the same price as a 2 board alibaba fixture. If you can get sheet alu cut cheap and easy and depending how much china shipping and customs works out as the 4 board hlg fixture may actually be well worth it: lm561c may be about 10% less efficient than lm301b but if you run 4 boards instead of 2 boards @ same 240w you will be making those 10% back by running your leds soft. So all is the same? No. Running your leds softer also have other knock on benefits: better led temps leads to more efficiency which is usually not counted. Also it increases the life or your led.
Larger form factor means you can get better spread and lower hanging height. Which means loads less of photon lost to walls.
Having 4 boards instead of 2 means you can get more wattage if you ever needed it.

This why i allways say leverage diode count: twice as many of last years hotness tends to beat half of this years hotness. Also, these calcs are based around ali diodes actually being proper topbin which is a bit iffy... The other issue is about supporting our sponsors of the forum. There are those who say support american business, i dont care too much cause im not state side. But if hlg are finally doing something good for those on the cheaper end we might as well encourage them to do more.

Totally agree if I lived In the States I would also go for HLG as my Chinese boards almost cost the same due to the shipping and import taxes. Unfortunately In my case I also needed to pay them for the HLG boards as I'm from Europe.

Me too! Also about a year or so it was almost impossible to find stock of hlg boards so china served me well too, especially the fotops for openspace and large cannopy.
Right now there isnt really any better deal in euro. Maybe some strips with led-tech.de i really like they have some specific flower spectrums but it would prob run about 60e for equivalent of a qb.

When I ordered from kingbrite I got 2 240w kits for 281 dollars out the door. I had to pay on paypal though ! If I ordered from hlg it would have cost me $600 not including shipping... lol.. like I said before besides visual differences both lights are equally brite to the eye and according to my phone lux meter... very scientific lol

Now I got a question! So far I got 3 240w kits in my 5x5. And a 240w kit in my 3x3 all of these are the white only 301b boards. I'm looking at buying 3 more kits for my new 5x5 that's coming in the mail

My questions are-

has anyone used the added cree 660nm 301b/h boards ?

Would I benefit from buying the added cree 660nm boards instead of the all white boards ? It will cost me 150 dollars more to have added red in the tent. Is it worth it ? Or should I just add 660nm strips ? Thanks
