They lack the mental fortitude to acknowledge their possibly faulty viewpoint because they're unable to seperate emotion from logic. They fight and twist the narrative because being wrong would crush their psyche's which I would describe as feeble. As soon as someone proposes a logical viewpoint or pokes a hole in their argument, instead of having a civil reply, they'll slander and throw a tantrum. They'll block" or "ignore," so they can build the wall of isolation back up, heaven forbid the facts get back in which might force them to question their parroted opinion.
