Granted thats for flower but I still give my veg 6 hours of dark always
Thank you for your answer got so much information out of that . I will go with 18/6 from today on.1) Darkness increases resin production.
During a plant’s dark cycle, respiration is in full swing. The light during the day provides the sugars/energy during respiration in the dark for growth of many things including trichomes and the oils inside. This is a normal process during flowering. When a plant is maturing and pretty much done, you shouldn’t see many, if any, clear trichomes forming. This is easy to check and don’t hold your breath waiting for more trichomes to form when the plant is finishing in those 3 dark days.
2) Darkness increases terpene production.
Terpenes and other secondary metabolites form mainly during the dark cycle.
3) Terpene levels are at their highest at the end of the dark cycle right before lights on.
Heat from the day evap’s volitle terp’s off we can smell so it make’s sense the highest levels would be when they are forming during the cycle with the coolest temps.
4) Sugars/starches recede from the plant to the root zone while in dark cycle resulting in a better tasting/burning bud.
This is also a normal cycle when the plant is growing leaf and photosynthesizing. At the end of the plants life there shouldn’t be much of anything going on if the plant is truly finishing. It’s a good practice for sure to cut during the dark cycle to gaurantee she hasn’t sucked anything up during a day time chop.
5) Chlorophyll isn’t produced/active in the dark and existing chlorophyll begins to break down.
This happenes during the drying period anyways
Now lots of people will say bro science or voodoo but I do everything I can to make my weed smoke better and taste better and hit better so its up to you. Hope that helps
Some strains big fan leaves go colors once they get that big. I dont usually let them get that big before I pull them off and have a strain in my tent whose all fan leaf stems are a reddish color. I think its AK-47 or grapefruit that has those qualities. So another day another problems.
First: I see some red here. Is it a problem already and does it needs attention right away? Or can it be just normal? I mean it has occured before, but got rid of it after i transplanted. Maybe stress (because LST)? well it's still too little and thinking to wait and do nothing about it - or?

So another problem. Well actually a real problem. FUNGUS GNATS - I think it's correct to call it fungus gnat. So I sure killed him/her but the problem still stays. I didn't see a single gnat except for this.

I need some good advice to get rid of them, probably there is more of them. I already planted a sticky yellow sticker.
Also I need some advice about watering. Am I really watering too much? Or is it my soil? or am I watering too regularly? So - soil isn't regular (has some shit in it (some shoots idk how to name it ) and I added about 35% of perlite. I have my plant in 5 gallon bucket (before transplant 1,5 gallon) I water about every 2-3 days now (but it depends if soil is wet, I don't water) I watered today, before i noticed this little fella. Before that 2 days ago I watered max 0,75l with nutes. So today it felt a bit dry, so I watered. My question is - Do I have to wait longer to water again?
If someone can tell me how exactly I know when and how much to water.. For this size of a plant and 5 gallon bucket? When is soil REALLY that dry do water? how to I know? I see that top of the soil is dry (maybe a very little moist) but maybe I need better explanation to understand when to water my plant.
To my eye it was all black. But it is a really close up picture and this gnat was like "fat" not skinnyCould be fungus gnat. Ours dont have the colors your is showing up where I am
That is a normal leaf.. The color is also normal.First: I see some red here. Is it a problem already and does it needs attention right away?
What do you mean when u say good wet/dry cycle? Like having my plant to be little more time in dry soil before watering? How dry exactly dry soil is? How to identify?I can never get rid of fungus gnats fully in my flower tent because I dont spray anything once in flower. That looks different then a fungus gnat IMO. As far as watering. Make sure you have a good wet/dry cycle. Especially dry. I've heard people put like rocks on top of the soil. Prevents fungus gnats from planting eggs which in turn limit their population. What size pots are your plants in? What week are you in? Give me the run down on your operation.
But what if it has more of that red tomorrow? Some nute def? Or too much stress? That is a normal leaf.. The color is also normal.
Stop stressin Plants is fine, keep it simple. But what if it has more of that red tomorrow? Some nute def? Or too much stress?
5 gallon is a really big pot for 5 weeks veg. Careful watering easy to over water when the plant is small and in a big pot. That being said dry/wet cycle example of my grow. I water the plants until I get run off then usually about three days later in flower, maybe 5-6 days in veg depending on plants size, I water but not without lifting the p!ant in the pot. If your not sure fill a pot with just dirt and water it. Get the feel of that weight. Also checking the top coup!e inches of dirt for dryness. Your plants will tell you when they are thirsty via wilting. What do you mean when u say good wet/dry cycle? Like having my plant to be little more time in dry soil before watering? I've heard that even sand will help (like rocks) maybe I have to use this kind of technique.
Pot size 5 gallon (first 3 weeks 1.5 gallon)
Exactly 5 weeks in vegetative stage (after germination)
I planted to 5 gallon because in 1.5 gallon pot I saw roots looking out at bottom of that pot. So I wanted to go with 3times bigger pot.5 gallon is a really big pot for 5 weeks veg. When you water your plant it adds weight. If you lift the pot you can tell how dry it is by feel.I planted to 5 gallon because in 1.5 gallon pot I saw roots looking out at bottom of that pot. So I wanted to go with 3times bigger pot.
Probabli I'll go with a week without watering now.
It's just the top will dry about 2-3 days, thats why I thought I need to water after 2-3 days.
Lifting the plant? What do you mean by that?
Thanks for your answers, been helpful.
I wonder, when is the last time to spray, let's say, Safers soap? Last day in veg or even before?I dont think I've had a grow without having some visitors in the tents. In veg I spray foliage with Safers soap but in flower all I can do is sticky traps and that's about it
