Noob question about light cycles

So I am trying to keep as natural and organic of a grow as I can in my indoor tent setup. I started the vegetative phase with 18/6 schedule. I was wondering about light schedules and was curious about people who gradually increase/decrease light schedule based on “seasonal” cycles.

Here’s what I’m thinking:
4weeks of veg in 18/6, 4more weeks of veg in 20/4, 4weeks of flower in 14/10, 4 more weeks of flower in 12/12....

my thought process is that it’ll increase vegetative growth by adding longer a few more hours in the day to account for a “spring-to-summer” transition. Then going from 20/4 to 14/10 to continue some growth in the plants, but stimulating the flowering stage (representing summer-to-fall transition).

Would these kinds of changes cause delays or problems in my grow?
Would it just be a waste of time and not have any affect?
Does it make sense in the idea that it’d increase growth?

sorry for dumb thought, but I figured it was interesting enough to get some feedback

Start a grow journal and test it out. I'm sure you would get a few followers here
Already have one and I’m about hit week 4 from when I initially germinated them.. when do people consider their vegetative state to begin because I’ve seen guys saying they’re like 4 weeks into veg and their plants are triple the size of mine

/that’s why I’m asking tho, cuz I’m right at that point where I’m thinking of flipping from 18/6 to 20/4

If you want growth, you can just stay with 18/6 and let the plant get big. Bigger the container, bigger the plant, considering you have enough space and good lighting.
It’s basically a 2 1/2’ x 5’ ; will have 2DWC and 4-6 soil-mix grows. Using a 4’ 6bulb T5 with 6700K lights in (will switch to full spectrum before flowering)

check my growjournal out

use the KISS ,method and don'take things harder just because u got a bright idea that thousands before u got but is no longer in use for good reason. terminology = flipping = change light cycle to flowering. anything else so far a light regime should not be called flipping period.

18/6 if fine to veg on and also will allow you to determine sex most strains on that schedule as well.
flip to 12/12 like normal unless u have a serious sativa u must control. don't just do shit in your garden for the hell of it. make your decisions practical and reasonable and that's all that matters and this will get u results u want. i hope i made sinse to you. peace

Look into positive DIF study by Michigan State. It's more about temps but it ties in with what you're talking about.

Simple enough and it's replicating nature.
Positive DIF is a difference of about 10 degrees cooler temps at night. I see grass grow like crazy when it's gets close to 16 at night and 26 in the day too.

And KISS is important because you may overlook the simple stuff and the more you try it becomes a chore for the life of the plants.

Good advice guys. Will keep it simple. Guna look more into the temperature DIF thing

I get your point; even if it is pretty brash. Considering this isn’t a lifting regime and it’s just at-home gardening; I don’t think anything needs to be strict because you don’t even know what results I’m going for lol.
The reason I’m doing different stuff is because I like the gardening aspect of it. I like being involved in it. It’s not like this is a money grab for me, it’s more therapeutic than anything and trying new things is fun to me. I obviously know what results I’d get from doing an 18/6 and 12/12. I said that in the OP. Thanks for the input anyway.
