What's up TStat? ... here's the supposed back story on MOB from High Times

As T.H. Seeds co-founder Doug explains, “In the mid- to late ’90s, a big bag of Cali weed ended up in Boston which had a few seeds—no one knew the strain name. This true bomb weed, apparently 100 percent indica, was originally called MOD, as these were the initials of the guy who grew it out, mothered it and got it going. But since it was getting too popular and they wanted to hide his identity, they changed the name to MOB. The crew that got it out there was the old Boston skateboarding community. The original guy gave a cutting to a friend of mine who brought it to me, and it was originally grown on my rooftop, flowering super-fast. Then we sent it down to Spain for further selection and feminized seed production.” LINK

I only ever saw MOB once or twice back in 2009 ... it was incredible.. it had such a strong smell it would hurt your nose when you stuck it in the bag... I have a few in veg now, I'll flower one or two indoors and the other in the greenhouse this year ... high hopes

I actually just washed 200 grams of LSD from my 2019 outdoor last night ... came out a real nice light color, it's still drying now, but I'm sure it's good stuff ... I didn't love the smell of the flower as much as others, but it's strong as hell

Yea, that article got me interested last year.
TH Seeds seems to not send to the US. Is there somewhere else I can get MOB?

Ha! Nice, looks good. Is that one adjustable? I’ve been pressing between 170-190 degrees for2-4 minutes. Looks like you got a good yield, lower temps you’ll get that clear yellow shatter like consistency.

So, i just saw that Attitude has MOB, so I’ll probably add it to my cart and get all 3, LSD, SLH, and MOB. Freebies are Dark Star Kush and Blue Angel. It’s been a while since I ordered from Attitude, but I always had good luck with them...

bx3 is like cubing right? I forget what I read about it but they cube things to try to isolate a trait for certain specific traits ? something like backcrossing to the mother?

Yup you got it. If done right you get seeds that grow similar to each other and show the unique traits the breeder selected for.

Backcrossing is a common technique used by breeders to fix certain traits. This is done by crossing one of the progeny (F1, F2…) with one of the original parents (recurrent parent) which has the desired trait. To have an even more stable expression of the desirable trait, you can cross the BX1 again with the recurrent parent to have a BX2 (squaring) and so on with BX3 (cubing), BX4, BX5.

I had a type of jager once , and I was surprised how similar to jagermeister it really was a good description.

It was like some sort of licorice- liquor lol
interesting to see if it would be a good outdoors strain for here, that was a nice strain

It does well it Cali and Oregon from what I've read. So well in fact that many people around there are sick of it because a lot of people grow it outdoors lol I've never smoked it so I'm down to try a cross of it.

looking at that snowcaine , pretty cool contest they did there. What a great concept and I hope they work out well for you, you may want to hold onto those because they're all-gone

Total nonsense story, MOB (Mother of Berries) is from Maine not Cali. Been a staple in Maine for years and years and is clone only. Rumored to be a cross of Friezeland and Blueberry, at least from the old timers I have talked too about it. Very sweet berry smelling and sticky, done by the end of September and is mostly grown outdoors. I am sure the clone made its way to Mass at some point, and they may have it, but I have no idea where they pulled that story out of.

^ TH Seed’s is a good representation of it, as is mentioned earlier I believe they are S1’s of the clone only cut (or one of them). I can’t speak to any others. Many stories but theyre all unanemous in that it came from or through new england.

Blueberry Muffin - Humboldt 45 day
Lemongrass - Humboldt 50 day
Big Drip (slurricane x purple punch) - In house genetics 56-60 day.

I did the TH Seeds MOB last year & the French Macaron. Might run one of those each again, well see. Both did really well. Both actually produced a few seeds (from rootbound stress) and those should be fem’s aswell.

Seed selection for me really is reliant on flowering time. If the early range isnt under 60 days it’s not even a consideration. Sucks because it does rule out alot of the strains you want but thats the reality of it.
How did your lemongrass turn out
