Hey welcome to my DIY Grow box thread, I’ve been using this janky grow box made out of a storage container and a windshield sun shade taped along the inside. It’s doing the job...kinda.
Looking down on my creation of budget, I decided to beef up my idea and make a more reliable sturdy grow box. But it’s currently in the works; hence the reason why I’m making this thread, to show progress on my project and vision.
In my janky grow box I’m running a 24” 20w 2600k T12 with a 15w 3500k CFL on a 24/7 lighting schedule. Both are getting things done but sheesh, I want my growing paste to be a little hastier than what’s going on at the moment.
Now that I’ve introduced my thread, I’m proud to present the first update of my DIY project.
Of course my goal was to expand my space but once I finished putting the wood together, it hit me: “This came out a little bigger than I thought it was going to be ” but either way I’m hyped about it.
Once I finish I’ll be going from a (2’6”L 1’8”W 1’2”H) grow space to a (4’L 2’W 2’H) grow space.
Can’t wait to work on it again and update this thread, I’ll see y’all on the next post

There’s definitely way more blues with this one that’s for sure.
. So last night going into this morning, I stayed up installing my new Reflectix insulation along with doing a silicone seal on all of the inside edges to ensure better negative pressure for when I add my controllable intake and exhaust fans. The light appears a lot more blue compared to the last update because of the way the camera adjusted.
