Bat Guano == Coronavirus

I apologize to bring the topic here.

By coincidence I planned an outdoor grow later this year, and for amending soil I also considered bat guano.

Well, to make a long story short, all you need to do is google "bat guano coronavirus".

This is not just speculation, it's fact. Studies have been done and this and other viruses *have been* found in bat guano.

So this opens up several questions:

* Before the current outbreak, could it have been that there had been few cases who got sick from handling bat guano, but because of only sporadic cases this was never a topic?

* Is commercial bat guano sterilized?

Ty!

Edit/Correction: It goes way further than that. Coronavirus isn't just "found" in bat guano. It is the #1 source where it is supposed to come from!!

Can you link me an article that shows the strain of corona virus in humans has been found in a single bat tested to date? Because I don't think it exists. Where is it? There has never been a recorded case of bat coronavirus jumping to humans.

If there had been in the past, and mind you this is purely speculative, then it was possibly never noticed as it possible didn't cause an outbreak. Maybe people just got sick?

But your sentence "never been a recorded case..." is astonishing since this is *exactly* what we have right now. Do a quick google and you come immediately across many sites including virologists talking that the COV "almost certainly" comes from bats respective bat guano....although (I admit!!) it's not 100% sure. It's also speculated that a virus from bats/bat guano might have merged with something from pangolins and that this has evolved into a new strain. But we could debate here until we're green in the face, of course we won't know the *exact* origin of the current coronavirus, except as said that some virologists strongly believe it comes from bats/bat guano.

Other sites casually mention "hiperplasmotosis", another disease from bat guano...or that bat guano in general can contain many, many viruses of all sorts...some even going so far that bat guano is like the unhealthiest substance in existance.

To the other guy: When handling the stuff, it would be very difficult not to spread/inhale it. Even if say we wear safety gear/masks....who says that not some pathogens when you mix it in your soil might get into the air and yo breathe it in? This is astonishing..because just 2 hours ago I didn't even now bat guano was hazardous, AT ALL. I would have bought it and happily mixed stuff in the green house with it and probably not cared about safety measures at all really.

Anything is possible. So if you use bat guano do not smoke the weed because you will catch it

COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic has a natural origin
Date:March 17, 2020
Source:Scripps Research Institute
Summary:An analysis of public genome sequence data from SARS-CoV-2 and related viruses found no evidence that the virus was made in a laboratory or otherwise engineered.

"In one scenario, the virus evolved to its current pathogenic state through natural selection in a non-human host and then jumped to humans. This is how previous coronavirus outbreaks have emerged, with humans contracting the virus after direct exposure to civets (SARS) and camels (MERS). The researchers proposed bats as the most likely reservoir for SARS-CoV-2 as it is very similar to a bat coronavirus. There are no documented cases of direct bat-human transmission, however, suggesting that an intermediate host was likely involved between bats and humans."

If they can't find the bats in wuhan sold at the wuhan market by the bat sellers do they even exist?

Using bat guano from Sunleaves 10+ years still not dead. Even mixed it with seabird guano in a coffee bean crusher, surely inhaled some did not get sick. Now lets talk about how worms can damage the ecosystem when misplaced.

Would you share the sources that have led you to conclude that this is an even remotely viable concern?

Bat to bird, goolagon or something, flown live from Indonesia (where the bats thrive) to Wuhan China, bird contact with humans. not bat contact with humans.

all prior coronavirus's came from bird's and pigs. the pigs got virus from bats.

bad information everywhere, don't spread it op.

Doesn't the virus need a host within a few days before it dies? I'm sure the bat guano has been sitting for weeks if not months before you buy it rendering any virus harmless. Still a good idea to wear a dust mask when using it same with perlite.

Guano=Really tasty bud. It's crazy how much more flavor it adds. My guano buds actually leave a fruity aftertaste in my mouth that lingers for awhile after I vape it, lol. The guano buds seem to have a more potent smell too. Like 15 minutes ago I vaped some Tahoe Alien that's been in a jar for over a year, and I can still taste the fruity goodness aftertaste, even though I'm also drinking a Budweiser, lol.

Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t bat guano (and other commercially available shit based fertilizers) heated, dried, and pulverized prior to packaging to kill off bad shit like viruses?
