Honestly I haven't even gotten that far yet. I do have raised beds that grow tomatoes quite well but I'm not sure how messed up that soil is. Recommendations?

Lighting advice? This looks interesting.
2 foot strip build
i too started my first grow in soil but i found it harder to control nutrients. Hydro isn't very complicated just need a ec meter,ph pen and plenty of cal mag

OP tent or box up to you that I’m not getting involved in

I grow in something this size. I was doing one big auto at a time however right now I’m doing 2. I wouldn’t start too many at once. Think about how big they will end up. Not sure what size plant that light grow I don’t use LED.

LST and other methods can keep the height under control.

+1 on the soil but I don’t agree with the no FF I think it’s ok.

@steve870 Doesnt hydro involve a bubbler? How loud are those?

@Wattzzup My plan was only for one plant for my first run. I think I may try to scrog when the time comes. I do think itll be atleast two months before I start growing. Amazon shipping has slowed down a lot for the non essentials.

No unless it's a dwc system. I'm just suggesting hydro because i feel i should have went with this on my first grow but i already had some knowledge on hydro systems in greenhouses so i can't really talk for you. If you use only soil and a little bit of fertilizer you will probably do just fine

What's wrong with using fox farms? It seems like so many people swear by it.. I'm a newbie and looking for good soil. I have used FFOF for my other plants and they have done well in it? Is it not the best option for growing cannabis?!?
Mixing happy frog and ocean forest at different stages is key. To much ocean forest can burn out your plants.

I think FFOF is great. Ya it can be a little strong for them at first, but then they adjust and love it. I used the same pots of FFOF for 3 rounds before turning it into no-till. Only using organic nutes though. I didn't even add perlite to it, but I would have now that I know a bit more.

Here was round 1 with fresh FFOF.

Most new growers here looking for help are using it. Might be a post hoc fallacy, but I don't care.

Hey, I didn't say everybody had issues with it lol

I think the real reason I don't like it is because sooooo many people are using it, and I usually hate most people, and almost always hate the bandwagon

Wow! That's amazing! I can't wait to get to the flowering stage.

Thanks for your reply! I think that it's great soil! So I will continue to use it (first time with cannabis). I've always mixed in perlite with it. My mom taught me to do it when I woukd help her in her green house.

Yes Hawaii is legal for medical. I don't have a medical card. Not as concerned about the cops, more about the other occupants who wouldn't like it.

@Powertech
I would like to use a tent. But it seems a bit obvious. I think some stealth would go a long way with unwanted questions that a tent would bring.
Talk to people and get a medical card because then u can prob grow more plants. I would never get a tent less than 5 feet tall. Many places in the state you can talk to a doctor if you find the right one and answer 10 questions and $200 later u have a medical card.
