Hey guys figured this would be a good thread to see what kind of success people are haveing. Im currently in the process of my first grow and ordering my lights which will be 4 double boards in a 5x5

Post your light set up and grams per watt

I’ll be perfectly honest, it’s my first grow; so I genuinely don’t know what the grams per watt is yet. Judging just purely on the looks and density of the buds I’d say 80 grams of bud per plant, they’re autos. That’s still 2.8oz per plant. Which would work out to be 16.8 ounces, or 475 grams of bud, which would be 1.2 grams per watt... but I mean I’m only basing this on looks. Come back and ask me in 3 weeks what it weighed :bigjoint:

We all over estimate our first yields. I’d suggest you stop guessing now to avoid being disappointed when you weigh it. Trust me..,you’ll still be happy with whatever you get from your first grow, but you’ll probably also be pissed and wonder why you yielded 1/4 - 1/2 of what you thought you were going to get. Don’t forget that the final dry weight is only 20% - 25% of the wet weight. This isn’t a knock on you, or your plants, so don’t take it that way. I’ve just yet to meet anyone who can accurately guess the yield they are going to get until they have everything chopped and hanging (at the earliest).

completely agree, but I don’t think I’d be pissed off - if anything I just can’t wait for them to be finished. I will be happy with whatever I get and honestly even if it’s low grade weed by the end, I still wouldn’t be disheartened. I will stop guessing:bigjoint::bigjoint:

"pissed off" was a poor choice of words on my part. What I meant is it will be more of a bittersweet feeling. You will be stoked, for sure, when you are done with drying and curing. There's no greater feeling than seeing the result of all that work and trying your home grown for the first time.

I was super happy with what I yielded from my first few grows but I was disappointed in myself for thinking I was going to yield much more than I did. I still try to refrain from guessing my yield because of that. I'm pretty sure the plants I just harvested are going to be my best yielding grow, so far...and I want to tell everyone how much I think/hope I yield, but I know I will probably still be off by a decent amount if I do...and I don't want to "jinx" that. It's funny, because I'm not even really superstitious. But I still act that way when it comes to guessing my yield.

Two 600s one MH one HPS switching to both HPS on day 12 flower on day 6 now.. the 5x5 is filling right in just sprayed again for mites last night and pressure hosed em down with str8 air out my basement door rite after spraying em and there loving life 3/4 of em we’re praying this morning b4 the lights even turned on lol.. how much yield did u run from ur two 600s is my main question and did u have em in a 5x5 tent too or? I’m wondering what my yields could essentially look like down the rd if everything keeps going good? 1.5lb? The big 6 plants r Barney’s farm gorilla zkittlez n 8ball kush both wicked yielders per square meter, I did a lil lollipopping and there all topped obviously lol, also I defoliate a bit too.

Big question is, do I have enough bud sites to haul like 30oz potentially “IF”the buds I do have we’re to swell up heavy? Or is there a maximum of 1.5lb in my tent?

They seem to b maybe 125% bigger than a super auto would be when it starts shooting pistils?? And autos can yield 3-4oz a piece soooo? Qp a piece for my bigger 6 and 3oz between the small 3 blue cheeses, would b my guess if all goes well

I never really calculated gpw..my growing is still evolving, it is for personal only. Best guess would be maybe 1 lb...maybe...I'm in an open room for flower, no tent.
Sorry I'm not much help on that aspect.

I won’t haul a GPW in that 5x5 brotha thanks tho lol 2lb max this run... so bout 0.75 gpw would b ideal, cuz u see the space left out that could b colas? I didn’t shape* my plants like crazy the big 6 had 37 days from sprout before flowering, the smaller 3 are only a week younger than the rest but 1/4 the size due to genetics.. kera seeds vs Barney’s farm Barney’s wins every time...I will know after this run what I am able to produce in that tent tho if I haul 20oz I know I’m capable of 25-30 next run.. I been growing for 13 yrs but I haven’t did anything in two years this is my first run back. I have a lot more experience with outdoor oppose to indoor I will admit, though.. I’m running advanced nutes 3 part with big bud n voodoo juice, cal-max and Epsom salt

I have still not hit 1g/watt yet. I'm 'hoping' to yield a pound from my current harvest (under cheap 600W COB LED) which would come out to about 0.75g/watt...but I'm not holding my breath (:

Get a couple t5s so u can start ur plants in that for 3 weeks b4 u harvest then that way u can maybe veg ur plants longer and yield more considering ur only running a cheap LED?? I donno

I got a 4tube 4ft t5 few weeks ago and plan on using my 5x5 as a flower tent only from now on, next run I’m doing the Canuck special= transplant 2gal pot veg into 7gal pots flower room, and leave em veg for a week then switch to flower..7gals already will b pre mixed with Gaia green then il top dress at week 4, and done! For half of em I wanna try that setup out.. and il use the rest of my advanced nutes on the other half and do a side by side comparison at harvest

I start all my plants in a small tent under an HLG-65 but I'm in the process of building my own Samsung F-Strip light that should blow away what I'm running now. The COB LED lights I have are still pretty powerful, they just aren't as efficient or dialed in as Quantum Boards. I veg for 6-8 weeks (first few weeks under the HLG-65 and then they go under 600W of COB in the 4x4 tent.
