What do you use for CalMag?

Why not just use the calmag? It has both calcium and magnesium at the correct ratios.
If you're using tap water you probably don't need calmag. I grow in coco and never have to use it.

If you are using r/o water then you need the calcium, me personally I run straight well water and the exact same Epsom Salts as @VILEPLUME as the well water already has plenty of calcium

Ah, Canadian then? I use mostly dehumidifier water and when my rezzy gets low I fill it up with city water, then let it circulate for 24hrs to evaporate the chlorine.
Whats a cheap calcium supplement?

Where do you buy it and what brand? I've been buying the local hydro stuff and it's expensive compared to 4KG Mag for $7.

i would like that. i've got the Mg figured out but for the Ca do you need Cal Nitrate? in dirt, you could use eggshells, oyster shells, etc , correct?

Oyster shell, lime, gypsum, and egg shells are all great amendments but rely on the micro herd for availability.
For soilless or even amended coco Nectar For the Gods is a good line. Its driven by calcium rather than nitrates. I really like this line but found it to be a pain in the ass. Even using just the basic four bottles was too much mixing for me.
Cutting Edge Solutions Plant Amp and Mag Amp. They're kinda pricey but they do offer more control over your Cal to Mag ratios. I'm sure there's cheaper options out there.
I've been using General Organics CalMag+ but my bottle is nearly empty so I ordered this to replace it.
It seems to be a little more concentrated than the GO CalMag.

for hydro though, how do you get Ca by itself? wouldn't cal nit be it? but then you got a lot of N.

Calcium carbonate isn't nearly as water soluble as calcium nitrate, but on the other hand, calcium carbonate won't push up your Nitrogen levels either.
Cal carbonate, but it's not nearly as water soluble as cal nit though.

For hydro, I "think" you'd need to nitrates for Cal exchange/availability?
To help neutralize/buffer soil? I don't see why not. Limestone is fairly affordable.

i'm on well water and the strain i'm running now is the first Ca deficiency I've ever had since using all well water and Maxibloom. i normally supplement with just Epsom for Mg and Su but this is the first time i've used my cal/mg bottle in a long time.
