like i said in my last post to you, try 6/18 for your next veg cycle. you'll see what stretching is vs growing.

now you got me interested. what is this stretching you speak of ? You need 12 hours of intense light for the plant to flower good. Thats not up for debate. What does this have to do with the plant GROWING during the night ???????

There is not much of a "spike" in a veg room. How many watts in your veg ? a 1k veg would cost me 63 cents for 6 hours of light. I guess that does add up to about 20 bucks per month an my electricty is cheaper then most.

I use a HLG 135 qb v-2 r-spec at almost full blast, I have the amperage lowered down just a tiny bit to help with the heat. I have a couple of WW autos from MSNL in there and just leave the lights on 24/7.

Yea , you are not running enough power to create a spike in your bill. 24/7 is fine. As far as doing autos , thats outta my league.

In a strict sense, plants do not grow faster in the dark; they grow slower. However, plants seem to grow faster in insufficient light due to rapid cell elongation. In other words, they don't grow faster, they simply stretch

In conditions of total darkness, plant cells will generally expand upward, a process called geotropism.

I never said anything about growing FASTER in the dark , just that they do not stop growing in the dark.
You can call it geotropism , i'll call it growing. My point is still the same ,. the plany grows 24/7 and it NEEDS 12 hours of intense light followed by 12 hours of darkness. in your lil weirdo world , i suppose the dark period IS more important then the light period but were on earth right now.

The absence of light allows the buildup of the flowering hormone, there are different types of recent plants and they flower to different length of night.
Flowering can also be aided initiated by dropping temperatures

I think the abscence of light for more than 24h will result in atretchy growth, not just the normal 12h nighttime.
