Seedling is turning yellow?

This seedling is about 9 days old. It started growing quickly, by day 2 it has the true leaves poking out but somewhere along the way it stopped growing and started yellowing. What can be the cause? I do see little sprouts growing in the middle of the first set of true leaves but I dont think the true leaves have grown enough to start growing a second set already?

I have this plant under cfl 80 watts (2 40 watt bulbs) overnight and I live where it's always sunny so I put it outside from 7 am to 5 pm in (mostly) direct sunlight. Water probably once a day, drainage holes on bottom of cup. I keep the light about 3-4 inches away from the light.

The medium looks wet in the second photo. Like bam says, you only give seedlings a bit of water and not near the stem. I use a shot glass and water in a circle an inch or so away from the stem.

The pics are from different times of the day. The wet one was right after wetting the top of the soil. The other pic is from a few hours later. I am positive it is not overwatered. Any other causes you can think of?

Not sure. I don't grow outside but I have heard you have to introduce young plants to sunlight very slowly, only a little at a time. You could try getting them healthy indoors then acclimate them to the sun slowly.

The plant was started outside from the very beginning....I didnt think I would need to acclimate it?

It’s too wet. I’d water it every 3 days or so.

The top will dry but if it’s outside in cooler weather it’s not drinking/evaporating.

Stop the misting and let it reach for water.

Too much water creates deficiencies as the roots starve of oxygen.

It is 80+ degrees outside daily, with direct sunlight the soil dries out a significant amount. I will change to every other day watering but I am fearful that it will wilt from the heat outside.

Only way to know how dry it truly is is to fill an equal container and leave it to go super dry. Just leave it. Then compare the two.

What soil are u using?

PH????

What is the medium made of of?? Looks like I see some Pine Bark?? If so, often times the soil will be acidic. I give a 10% feeding as soon as they pop, and feed with each watering. Magnesium included. Is the medium Heavy, or light? Looks heavy.

Its turning yellow because medium is a little hot for it. The cotyledon leaves that are coloring “ job “ is to supplement very basic nutes to it for early growth. Not all potting soil is the same ... some come in salt heavy and are ratio different in elements for cannabis. Hence the rough start.
