Are those measurements the soil capacity only? I think you said so just wanted to check. I've got a good buddy who owns a local hydro shop, ima try and talk him into seeing how many bags of roots will fit into the different sizes lol.
Not sure what you mean. The soil capacity alone is 2 cubic ft (15 gallons) The reservoir on the original will hold 2.5 gallons. The Root and Veg reservoir holds slightly less, but still a little over 2 gallons when dry.
Oh, ok my bad them, I guess they are the same, I didnt know you could fit 2 cu.ft. in a 15g. It's been a very long time since I had a smart pot, lol I gave all mine away
I'm not sure you can in a Smart Pot. I think the sizes on all grow bags are overstated. But, in terms of actual unit conversions, 2 cu. ft = 15 gallons.

My 3 gallon grow bags for patio veggies barely hold a little over 2 gallons of soil when filled to the rim.
It's also a little confusing when they use dry instead of liquid volume to measure the soil. I copied this from B.A.S.

I've thought about it but that's about it, I've always found vertical growing kinda fascinating, but with how I'm set up now it would be quite a bit of adjusting and I just havent brought myself to giving it a try.
It's going too well. The amount of increase in growth that I've gotten I just was not expecting at all. She grew at the speed of what's normally my stretch in flower. But I dont wanna put my foot in my mouth. So I'm currently working on getting 2 of the most identical clones that I can, and setting up 2 brand new sips exactly the same with the one variable being an air stone in one and not in the other.
Great news! Do you think adding air to the soil might be another boost or maybe just overkill?
I asked about aerating an em-1 res over on probiotic farmers group on fb. I was told by alan adkisson and a few others (who i don't think ever tried it) that the o2 would kill off all the anaerobic microbes we want. Curious to see how it works out for you.
As i said I don't want to put my foot in my mouth, but as of this very min, definitely boost 100%. I actually went and bought 3 new air pumps.

Oh! I didn’t realize you top dressed. I thought the idea was that you build the soil up so that you only add water through the entire grow. What does your top dressing schedule look like?
