well some of you know that my dumbass wrecked my car and lost my job about a month ago... but we got a call from a friend; she lost her house in the storm and is selling her car for cheap.... so my wife should have a vehicle within the week.... my grandfather is also sticking his neck out for me at his job.... hes been there over 35yrs and is trying his best to get me hired; as long as i quit smoking pot, cause they pop you with random tests fairly frequently.... he's a class A welder at our local shipyard and trying to get me on as a shipfitter or tacker... i dont know anything about it, but i learn quick and have a list of wonderfull references from guys that have worked there for over 20years to the chief of police in the same town..... i go in tomorrow morning... hopefully all goes well; they start you at 13.50hr with plenty of overtime and full medical benefits after 90 days... might not be smoking anymore, but i will have a career to fund our move to cali next year where i plan to get my medical and go all legal.... wish me luck

thanks book!!! im surely gonna need it.... like i said, i dont know jack about welding, but i can bs my way through a conversation about it... just hoping that after 35yrs of being there and never asking them for anything that my gramps will be able to call in a favor.... he said he's gonna talk to the plant manager if he can find him in the morning, give em a heads up as to who i am and how much i need this.... i am hoping, praying and nervous as hell!!

but seriously thanks guys.... i have been depressed as hell lately... on top of the above, our 2nd baby is due in 8wks.... its too close to not have something going... i need this... my other option, if this doesnt work out is a moving company nearby, but that is only $8hr.. less than half of what ill be making at the shipyard (they average 15-20hrs overtime a week)...

if i were a superstitious feller, i wouldnt be worried... walking around with my grandpa today, talking about the job, i looked down and instantly saw this lil guy.... too bad im not stuperstitious; im still worried...

Make it happen. Giving up pot is nothing. Its a minor thing in the overall theme of life. Once you get the job and have been there awhile you can figure out the pattern to their testing. My work random tests, but its every three months almost to the week. A lot of people carry urine luck with them at work and i know 5 different who have passed randoms using it.

I quit for work a long time ago. Used to be a daily all day user. Now its a few times a month, sometimes more sometimes less. I still love growing it and looking at it though.

i planted some red clover last spring that pumped out alot of them, but this just jumped out at me in the backyard grass.... i dont believe in any of that, but i still thought it was cool, and it kinda made me feel a little better.... i didnt know you were a welder though.... useful trade to know. i never learned cause my grandpa (who raised me) always told me to stay in school cause he didnt want to see me working at the shipyard... how ironic..:roll:

there's are completely random... name is pulled by computer... gramps got his hand sliced open last year; took the drug test.... 5 days later they pulled his name for a random.... sometimes he'll go the whole year, without one, but has seen times where he got pulled more than once in a month.... if he is willing to stick his neck out for me, i'll be honorable man enough to not make him look bad by being the "pothead"...
