Can you have a acmpr license in quebec without the signing of the landlord (i will move in a appartement soon) and he was very clear on the NO SMOKING inside so i guess its a big no to grow too lol. Anyone have been through the same situation and what are my options?

I dont think you need permission from the landlord if the location is your primary residence, but Im not positive if that is correct.

Growing and smoking are two different things.

If you can’t contain the smell, or you are running HPS, then he may be able to have a say in it. As a person who used to rent out their own property I find it bothersome when people say a landlord should have no say in something like this. The landlord risks everything when they rent out their property and one bad tenant can really financially destroy landlords who only rent out one place like I did. If you are thinking this way now, then I have a feeling you and your future landlord are going to clash, and that won’t be good for either of you. It’s a shitty way to have to live.

I feel you man and i got respect for the appartment and the landlord too. When i say ''everything being done how its supposed to'' i mean being 100% sure about the humidity, smell and electricity issues like i threat it like i owned it and i dont do something that could compromise the entire appartment in first place. I know a lot of people who did it and didnt give a single fuck about the consequences but im not like that. Ive always been lowkey and been doing this since im 16 and now 24 and every landlord ive had couldnt tell that ive been growing and thats what matter to me..leaving the place like when i moved in! You can understand because you grow but imagine trying to explain this to a landlord who think weed is bad and we know that if done properly i dont cause no harm to the appartement..thats my point with this.

I’m glad to hear that. I see so many growers, especially on Reddit, who seem to assume that every “landlord” is some sort of slumlord who makes a shitload of money off their tenants and that is rarely the case. I rented my condo out at a loss for almost a decade after the housing market crashed out here. I would’ve had to come up with $20k to pay off the mortgage if I sold it, but I lost even more than that over a decade of renting it out due to rent rates being so low, and then I barely broke even on the mortgage when I finally sold it. It was a risk worth taking, though, because we would still be living in that little condo if we didn’t take the risk to buy a house.

LOL! Yeah, it was crazy. I got way behind on the property taxes for my house because of it. I refinanced my house, and finally got all caught up, the same week they shut everything down here due to COVID. All I could think of was “Isn’t this fuckin great? After 10 years I finally don’t owe any back taxes and now I’ll probably get laid off and start the cycle over again!” bongsmilie

Salutations BigDaddyStrain,

Can you have a ACMPR license in Québec without the signing of the landlord (i will move in a appartement soon) and he was very clear on the NO SMOKING inside...
Hummm... Anything new under the sun since October 17, 2018? ... Last September or even more recently in 2020 for that matter?...

Google News: CORPIQ Éviction Québec Cannabis 2020

Ah yes, it may help to mention that C.O.R.P.I.Q. actually stands for "Corporation des propriétaires immobiliers du Québec", which is a "non-profit organization representing the interests of residential rental property owners" to put it in clear english. So i figure it may prove useful to check those people's specific version right at the source:

Discover CORPIQ’s new recommendations regarding the legalization of cannabis (2020-Jun-12)
Medical Cannabis: the Régie du logement refuses to decide (2019-Nov-25)

So i gather from this alone that "medical" consumers got some rights protected if prepared to defend them in justice court(s)...

Which must be why intuition dictated me to call it "Légaleezation" even before automn 2015 as i recall. Welcome to the hypocrite game of playing cat 'n mouse, in both official languages as a bonus!

Good day, have fun!! :peace:
