24 Hours of Darkness to switch light?

Hey guys. I’m sure it’s okay for the plants but I wanted to make sure.. I want to switch my lights to be on at night. Currently they’re on from 9am-9pm. I’d like to change it so they’re off during the day (it’s been getting really warm h last couple days). Tonight when the lights go off, could I leave them of for 24hrs to switch the light schedule? Or is it a no go? I can’t see why it would hurt since it’s just more darkness.

yes, you will be fine I always do 24 hr dark period before I switch from veg to flower, it also helps reduce the stretch factor

From my understanding it helps the plant know that there is a transition happening, I have noticed from doing for years the difference. Not to say that a plant that is normally tall and spaced they still won’t be that way but might not be as tall overall

Also from an article let me post about change in spectrum shock that might also be another reason

When plants grow leaves, they optimize the leaves for the light they are currently receiving. Whenever light intensity or spectrum changes, the existing leaves aren't optimized for the new conditions, and the plant undergoes shock. Leaves grown under the new lighting conditions will be optimized for it, but until new leaves grow the plant isn't able to best use the new light it's getting.
