Gavita 1000w DE vs LED

The best way to look at larger room grows is you aren't lighting plants, you are lighting the room. You get the right amount of light for your square footage, evenly spaced and hung high. Make walls as reflective as possible with 1/8" thick white poly wall sheeting or paint and minimize wasted space by locating as much gear outside the room so that your walls can be better reflectors (closer to the plants).

I would like to see a comparison side by side if anyone can point me into the right post as I can't seem to find one. I am leaning towards LEDs (been saying it for a couple months now, just haven't bit the bullet yet)
Stick with LEDs these Gavitas have that cursed hidden running cost of changing the reflector or shieled every year more if a heavy user of these lights

fuking annoys

One thing that LED's are cursed with, degraded light output as the surface of the LED reacts with compounds in the air. Unless they have replaceable lenses you are basically fucked.

Being in the 5th grow with these, I have not started to see that yet. I’ve been checking with the PAR meter to see if the numbers are dropping, but so far, so good. Kinda hoping they shit out on me next year so we can upgrade to whatever is the latest and greatest out there. :)

I remember @TEKNIK saying around 2 years is when it's expected to start seeing numbers fall off. Of course it depends on how clean your air is too. Sprays in the air and especially sulfur vaporizers would be hard on them.

I use CMH and quantum boards. CMH buds are a lot more dense. Same strain same germ day same everything. Qb does a lot foxtailing. CMH baseball buds

Im running some cheap quantum boards for the first time and im very impressed with the growth so far. Gonna see how flower goes I'm flipping this week. Fingers crossed the buds get dense. I have two pb4000 maxisun for a 4x8 tray. I'm also running a diamond 650 and a mixjoy4000 on my other table to see which light does the best. Then off to the warehouse..
