Hello guys, I’ve come here for advice from experienced people please. Here is my set up, please revise and comment.

1. Tent 3 x 3 x 6 ....Can possibly upgrade to 4 x 4 x 6

2. Carbon Filter Vortex 400 CFM

3. Vortex Inline Fan 340 CFM

4. CMH 315 Watt 4000K Fusion VEG LIGHT (not yet ordered and have option to go 3000K, and option to upgrade to Philips green power... what is green power and what is different between 3000 and 4000K thank you)

5. 1000 Watt HPS light air cooled tube... Flower light

My main questions are the lights.. is this an outrageous combination or is this a good set up? How can I make it better.. thank you all inputters! Also if it is air cooled tube, do you have to connected anything to this tube to air cool it or is it air cooled? Thanks

I think better to use 600W in 4x4 or 400W in 3x3. 3000K is more for flower 4000K is better for grow. It is colour of the light measured in Kelvin.

If you go 4 x 4, that 1000W HPS just found it's happy place.

But 315 is low if you want to VEG the entire 16 sq. ft. Can you throw a second one in there? If that is not possible, no LEC at all and swap the HPS blub for a 600W MH bulb during VEG? 37.5 w/sq. ft. is a good VEG intensity.

That's a good sized exhaust fan. A 400 CFM unit will run at 1/2 speed max to maintain good air exchange in your 4 x 4 x 6. You can probably skip the intake fan and open one of the lower vents and just let the tent gently breath in new air. My 190 CFM exhaust with one vent open is running at 1/2 speed and is venting very well in a 2 x 4.

I didn't see any mention of circulation fans. Do you have any? That newly breathed air has to be drawn up and circulated within the canopy.

Will be adding circulation fans yes thanks for mentioning, interesting so you would recommend 600W MH for veg and then 1000W HPS for flower and this would be acceptable?

Yup. The VEG cycle doesn't need as much light. You can get some pretty good sized girls with a 600 MH. And since you have the hardware for HPS ... it will only cost you a blub.
