I have yes. It is still running but is so hot you cant touch it for more than a second or two. It will kick the breaker soonDidn't you already try that? "I ran it till it kicked while it was the only thing on. "
First of all, be careful. The breaker finally kicked off with only the light running.
So I can leave the power supply plugged in with no issues (not connected to the lights)
I cant run the light for a full 12 hours.
I cant run the light with other things in the room on
Maybe the wire I used isnt thick enough?
Maybe I crossed a wire somewhere?
I guess tomorrow I will see if i can find some 18AWG solid core wire and wago connectors to rewire the whole thing and see if that helps.
Should the driver be getting so hot you cant touch it?
I agreeFirst of all, be careful.
Continuing to run a driver that's tripping breakers isn't a great idea.
Maybe it's a bad driver!!!
It's not your wiring on the dc side, those drivers have protection circuits... you can short out the dc side and it will simply shut down the output.
There is no way that driver should ever trip a breaker!
HLG drivers get fairly hot under load.
i've seen two die, never tripping a breaker tho. and both were the same model as this one only b versions.Oh I see...
If it's kicking a breaker, it must be a wireing issues
I'd assume it's your power cord, be sure that's correct
I've never seen, ever, a bad mean well drive die that fast, or at all
dam dude, that sucks. was it a series or parallel wiring?"I also had 2 Mean Well drivers that I got from Meiju fail on me, one just quit working, which wasn't great, but caused no damage, but the other one a HLG-320H-AB that failed caused a expensive fire in my back shed. "
Chinese LED light manufacturers and the truth about what diodes / bins they are using lm301b vs lm301h
It has been said on the board recently that chinese LED light manufacturers are lying about their claims they are using genuine LM301H diodes or "Top Bin" LM301B diodes in their lights. Of course it would be a simple matter to claim they are using lm301h diodes or top bin lm301b diodes since...www.rollitup.org
