My wife is a dedicated teacher that would walk thru fire to help a pupil, which she has done in essence more than once.
Now she is being asked to literally step into a deadly environment with no social distancing in a confined area & where I live, Trump's Virus is rampant right now
I live in Fairfield county, CT, which alongside NY & NJ suffered the early onslaught of Trumps Virus in the US with the most deaths.
We started to level off 5 weeks ago, but in the last 2 weeks there has been an increase in new cases.
Just imagine what's going to occur when you have dozens/hundreds/thousands of students/teachers/assistants confined in a school setting now?
It's going to be a fucking horror show & I'm not too excited that my wife is involved in it.
Biden has it right & the rest of the fucking World has it right.
Shut it all down until we have rapid testing/vaccines available, otherwise it's just going to be a disaster

i don't know if you saw my other post, but my daughters school had about 150students, 30 faculty. how in the fuck do you not test 180 peeple a few days before start of school? yet the nba, nhl, mlb, mls can test them all for eternity?

The school should not open in the middle of a fucking Pandemic unless every single student/teacher/employee has been tested.

There are other strategies that work. Intensive testing as schools can work - including 100% testing daily/isolating infected and those who contacted them would work if tests were less than a day turnaround. Managing the epidemic might be better. That would include widespread testing of population in large numbers/short turnaround/contact tracing/isolating protocols for those infected and schools only open if community has a very low rate of infection. Both intensive testing at schools and managing the epidemic are not perfect but better than what is going on in some districts.
As it is, we aren't doing anything well. My community's schools will not open unless the overall rates of infection drop below an acceptable level, so you could say we are following the Managing model. I don't know if we are ever going to open up.

Not in jest at all and ya I thought I was pretty clear ........ I’m pissed off at the ineptitude off some governments and people that think this is some giant fucking experiment with people as the crash test dummy. They’ve been saying social distance, stay in your small circle of family and friends but come a week from now we’re gonna let thousands of kids mingle in one place ........... great strategy!!!!! So yes I’m pissed and concerned.

Tests cost money and all the “sports” you compared the schools to are billion dollar corporations. Soooo not really a fair comparison. Schools don’t have the funds to provide tests to everyone.
the nba is still testing people down in the bubble even after they pass to get into the bubble. So tons of tests are being “wasted” on athletes who have already tested negative. And not being provided to teachers and or students on the front lines.
