Yeah the high times ... what a credible source this is ....New Research Shows Flushing Plants Before Harvest May Be Unnecessary
In a blind taste test, researchers have found that many prefer cannabis that has not been flushed before harvest.hightimes.com
Yesterday in my grow room, canna coco and GH Flora Series trio, day 52. The plants in the foreground are sensimilla and the plants in the background (at 35 days) are seeded (Bodhi Blueberry Hashplant). Anecdotally I don't flush and I've run several of the same clones side by side to test this. Taste is not changed by flush. All it does is reduce your yield as you starve your plant during final bulk up.
My Ppms have been high their whole life. ec of mix maxed out at 3.0, currently at 2.2. I have a 4x8 with 30 1 gals, 9 strains, all seed pops. 3 315cmhsffwp,
Sorry your thread turned into a shit flinging show.
Those are nice looking plants.
Flushing is a very controversial topic, and whenever it is brought up, there will never be agreement.
I personally opt for a fade instead of a flush. I grow in hydro and can watch the uptake of PPM reduce as I near the end of the grow cycle.
When the plant tells me she doesn't need that high of a solution of nutrients, I lower the PPM.
This is just my personal opinion!!!
I believe that if the proper about of nutrients are given during the duration of the grow, then there is no need to flush. However, if the plants have been overfed their entire lives, then yes, a flush may be beneficial.
I would respectfully suggest that you do a bit of studying on the topic, and make your own call.
You will never get a straight answer to your question.
You grow your grow!
Cheers,
WillieP
What light? How long have you been running coco?Yesterday in my grow room, canna coco and GH Flora Series trio, day 52. Don't starve your girls.
1000 HPS and I think I've been running coco since around 2013. Before that I was running Sunshine Mix #4 and before that NFT rails. What light? How long have you been running coco?
I'm in hydro. I flush every 2 weeks. My girls get only water that one day (my water runs about 250 PPM so it's enough to leach any excess or nutrient salts). I don't flush at the end. Taste and smoothness are a function of cure.My Ppms have been high their whole life. ec of mix maxed out at 3.0, currently at 2.2. I have a 4x8 with 30 1 gals, 9 strains, all seed pops. 3 315cmhs
Man you anti flushers ..So if the point of flushing is to starve you plants of nutrients so that the buds arent filled with 'nasty' nutes wouldnt flushing disprove itself becuase the plant is just transporting the nutrients from the leaves to the bud anyway so it doesnt achieve anything all youre doin is making it harder for the plant to access the nutrients it clearly wants
Bro i aint gonna try change your mind, but i used to flush and then tried without flushing and theres zero difference its all placebo effectMan you anti flushers ..
Like I get it it you want a bigger yield but at what price and don't tell me it don't taste harsh cause it fucken does! can't put the wool over my eyes. If the plant isn't flushed correctly you're going to notice.
All this bullshit about it being a myth ... for years people been flushing ain't no one say dick. But now we live in yield wars and it has become such a competitive thing among growers where now basic practices are made fun of because you could be sacrificing the tiniest amount of harvest
Give me a break! Flushing has been on everyone of my nutrient guides. So how is it even nutrient companies recommend flushing? Wouldn't it be more favoring for them to remove it? I mean if the taste and quality wasn't so different I wouldn't make such a big fuss. But this yield mentality makes growing really boring and diluted.
Pssst nutrient companies also recommend using more nutrients than requiredMan you anti flushers ..

any tips for dry/cure?Pssst nutrient companies also recommend using more nutrients than required
I don't flush and have a list of clients who have never even tasted harsh weed
It is due to the dry and the cure, not flushing
57 % humidity at 73 fany tips for dry/cure?
So wait a week, trim and still let hang for 3 days? Then cut off stalk and into jars they go? Final trim when ready to smoke after burping? I honestly like my flowers not cut to the skin, I like a little sugar leaf to form that blanket of terps.57 % humidity at 73 f
one week
Then trim entire plant
3 days later drop in jars
I trim mine and put the end product on racks to finishSo wait a week, trim and still let hang for 3 days? Then cut off stalk and into jars they go? Final trim when ready to smoke after burping? I honestly like my flowers not cut to the skin, I like a little sugar leaf to form that blanket of terps.
Drying rack for 3 days?I trim mine and put the end product on racks to finish
As you can see i leave a bit of sugar leaf too
