I paid my wife's friend with weed to help and she sends us this pic...

I washed all of my outdoor harvest this year and I don't regret it one bit! Very clean smoke and with all the ash deposit here in Cali, it was well worth it. That said, I did find two buds that had this exact spiderweb stuff in them. I cut it/picked it out. If your taking the time to properly trim your buds, you should be able to spot this stuff ahead of time, IMO.

My homie dunked his outdoor for the first time this year and that's exactly what he said. It was actually pretty nasty lol.
My wife was reading me an article about how every grower is reluctant to wash their buds and I fit into that category. However, I do live on a dirt road and people drive by doing 80mph on my tiny road and it leaves a huge dust cloud. I imagine that my bud is covered in dust. I wasn't discrediting the washing method, just wanted to know more about it. I'm glad that you chimed in with this!!!

Oh sorry I go for stints not on the forum sometimes lol was not trying to ignore you or anything. I actually started trying a lot of the techs you were talking about a while back with bokashi as well as em1 in the rez. I dont know that I was ever able to get it correct though. Might try it again this next go round. Again sorry man was not trying to ignore.
It's cool man! Like I said, we didn't have an arguement or anything and I know that I can get long winded talking about soil. I've seen you posting in GreenThumb's post, I'll hit you up there. I meant to tag you in that last post too, one about washing bud.

I think what had happened was that she grabbed some of the larf bud(I had it separated) and trimmed it herself.

I probably wouldn't ever wash mine either, unless I had PM....or lived in Cali or someplace with the fires!! I wonder if / how the fires will effect some of the big outdoor growers who won't wash. We will see soon, it's harvest time!

Yeah, try it out sometime. I think H2O2 is a bit heavy handed though. I use three 5g buckets: 1st one has 1/4 cup baking soda + 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice, 2nd plain water, 3rd plain water. Here are what the buckets looked like after doing a couple medium sized plants...

1st wash bucket:

2nd wash bucket:

3rd wash bucket:

After dunking, branches hang from a line for a few mins and then before bringing into the dry room, I give each branch a few swings toward the ground to get the residual water out. Drying time was 7-10 days at 45-55RH and 73F. No mold, rot or any other moisture issue. Terpenes and potency are great!

Do you trim fan leaves before this, I image that you would. Trim fan leaves and leave the sugar trim for later? Thanks for posting this!!!

The posts I have seen that mention hydrogen peroxide use it only in a ration of 1 cup of h2o2 to 1 gallon of water. Just for reference. And WOW look at all that!

Looks tasty AF. I've never made it that way, but heard it's better than bubble hash. Is it full melt?
Absolutely! The first pull of the material is of course the best. Out of dry sieve, bubble bags or dry ice, dry ice wins hands down. Better flavor and yield than bubble and without the drying process! It takes a whole lot less time and effort than dry sieve or bubble bags too. I take the resulting kief, cure it for a couple more months and then rosin press it as desired. I’ll post a pic of the first pull compared to the second run..

I might have to learn your method...I just made it with ice & bubble bags....out of 4 gallon bags stuffed with sugar leave trimmings, I only got about a half ounce of good full melt hash...Only the 73 & 90 bags are good, and the rest is giveaway or food grade. Probably an ounce total though.

I'll describe what I have going on first. I don't use any pesticides or sprays of any kind, so I would assume that other people would appreciate it but it don't look like it. She must have picked a winner because I didn't find spider web in the rest of the weed that I have. This is my first outdoor harvest and I thought that it went pretty well, but should I expect this and how does a dispensary see this? I mean, it's a spider and not spider mites or rot. I just feel like I cannot win here. It was Pineapple fields from Dynasty seeds and it smelled like Cherry Ludens, I was proud of this! Really, I think that it is a combination of her boyfriend hating on us and the fact that people from Oklahoma don't know shit about weed or the process of growing it. Apparently, they threw it all in the trash and asked for cash next time. Probably won't happen...

You might have only 2 choices. Pay the person tomorrow or go raw dog on the person in question. This is no different than how Harris raw dogged the vice president last night. Hope this helps.

Oh wow. Yeah I used half a 5g bucket of sugar leaf and slightly bigger leaf and got 1 ounce of top shelf kief and 1/4-1/2 once of low grade kief. The first run was with 160 bag (top shelf) and 2nd run was with 120.

The top shelf kief will be further processed into rosin and the lower grade added to joints and what not.

Dry ice for the win!

As for that webbing in the bud. We used to find crap like that all the time back in the days of brick weed.

Don't smoke it. Back in Jr High we skipped school one day and were hanging out smoking pot. I found a dead spider and put it in this one kids bong hit. He blew out yellow smoke and started gagging. We all laughed and laughed. Looking back I realize what a terrible thing it was to do. But we were all young and dumb. Good times...

I've been pulling spiderwebs out of buds as I trim, here and there, not too worried about them being budworms because I carefully inspected any webs I found on plants while they were still growing and every single time I found a spider hanging out. Unfortunately most of the spiders died after our first really cold night.
