Hard to clone strain

Morning!

Just wondering if anyone has any tips on hard to clone plants

I normally have a near 100% strike rate, and have done for years. However, one plant has come along that I really like but out of a tray of 10 to 15 cuts I may only get 4 to 6 rooted if I’m lucky!!

I soak jiffy’s in water with a small pinch of 200-1 aloe Vera powder, squeeze the excess liquid out and straight in.

Then the normal dome and under a small t5 clone bulb.

The plant is a rado rose by karma genetics (rosewater cookies x karmarado OG)

Cheers

persaverance and patients lol, have you tried rockwool or some root riot blocks? an aerocloner or aerated water methods to covr all types of cloneing teck's?? it pays to try as many diff methods as possible, especialy as shes a keeper

Rockwool added to the list.

I’ll give the two a try and if I have no luck I’ll go the the aerocloner route.

Thanks again

Some stuff to try to improve success.

Foliar spray your "mothers" with kelp extract two weeks before you cut. And foliar spray with fish hydro one week before you cut.

Soak your jiffy pellets in compost tea, or innoculate them with Azos, or some kind of beneficial bacteria product. Consider also using a tiny amount of fish hydro when you innoculate the pellets, to give the bacteria something to feed on.

10-12 days after your cuts have been in pellets, lightly mist them with kelp extract to stimulate roots.

Thanks mate!!
That foliar trick sounds like a quality extra step that I’m going to adopt from now on.

I’ve already have the fish hydro so I’ll give that a whirl as well.

I forgot to mention I use an innoculant very similar to great white along with the aloe when I initially soak the cubes.

And thanks again for the added strings to my cloning bow.

Soaking the rockwool in a tea?Like ewc or? So bubble same as feeding a plant? Thanks.

Your spaying the clone right not the cube?
Oh, sorry man! You're right, spray the clone with the kelp extract, not the cube.

And yes, bubble the tea just like you were making "regular" EWC/Compost tea. Then when it's ready, soak your Jiffy Pellets or Rapid Rooters. They are brands of Peat Pellets. I imagine you could soak Rock Wool the same way, but I've never done it before.

Some strains are apparently really hard to clone, but I've not tried them yet. I know it sounds silly, but I've been able to get about 80% of all the plants I've tried so far rooted just by putting into a glass of plain water and covering with a plastic baggie with holes made to keep the vpd very low while allowing a little air exchange. Yeah plain water. In a glass or cup. In front of a window. I think this is more complicated than needs to be. lol

I’m at a 90% rate using Cyco Cyclone rooting gel, let the cutting soak in the rioting hormone for a minute (I use a shot glass so I’m not dunking right into the bottle) then I stick them in pH balanced jiffy pellets. Cut off all leaf tips. Mist underside of leaves. Cover with the plastic jiffy dome. 24hrs light under 2 6500k spectrum led bulbs (20w). First day let them sit. Second day open the lid and wipe off condensation let breath 5min. Third day open lid wipe condensation and mist undersides of plants. Fourth day open lid 5min wipe all condensation. Fifth day mist plants and wipe condensation. Repeat that order till day 12 will have roots.

have contemplated making the mini aerocloner but those are on a timer to spray every X minutes per hour per day

Why wipe off the condensation? I spray the lid not the plants.

Clone King aero cloner is boss. Did it every way you can think of and even DIY-ed my own aerocloner which was ok but the Clone King is money well spent. Roots in 5 days. No hormones no gel just plan tap water.
Adding a drop or two of GH Rapidstart makes bushy roots super fast. Not organic and also optional but Rapidstart pushes out roots like nothing else I’ve seen.

Ammonium molybdate, ammonium nitrate, monopotassium phosphate and potassium nitrate. Cute.

It makes me wonder why you like the the organic section of this forum. lol j/k

Why don't you like the aero? I'm new to this stuff as of this year and have had a 100% success rate in the aero, 72 clones rooted successfully. Had to give a bunch away and event throw some out lmao.
I recently made the switch from coco and bottled nutrients to a coots type mix and never plan on going back.
The aero clonner seems like a step back in that direction.
I only have a small cutting/seed tent and don’t think one would fit.

But don’t worry, Should I continue have little success with this one strain I may find myself looking into one.
