Boveda 58% for curing in mason jars

I bought 6 humidity packs from Boveda 58% the ones with 8g’s.
I’m curing in a mason jars, and the humidity inside is almost getting stuck at 55%..most of the time is at 57%. I’m at day 5 of curing.

Now is Boveda 58% a good option?

Wondering If I should’ve gotten the 62%..
Would that have been a better option?

What do u guys use? And any good curing methods?

I prefer integra boost packs but you have to be gentle with them as they are known for tearing if they get poked with a stem. The boveda packs are known for sucking up your terpenes (your smoke looses it's aroma). The integra boost packs are not known for causing any loss of terpenes.

Most folks use the 62% for curing.

Noted, I’ll buy Integra Boost for my next grow.

But what difference would 62% do?
And what do you actually use 58% for then?

I would stick with 58% boveda packets. 58% is my preference for flower humidity. I have been using them for a few years now and wouldn’t recommend anything else. I have not lost any flavor in the flower. I have stored flower with boveda for a year and it barely loses flavor. Keep it out of the light and at a good temp too. As for the other brands I wouldn’t use them, they do actually change the flavor of the flower. I tried integra and boveda side by side in the past. Boveda is the only brand to use salt and water as ingredients, integra is vague on ingredients but their site says glycerin and assures you the packets will not rip..
You can reuse the boveda packets just dry or rehydrate them to the weight on the packet. I use one 8g packet for a 1quart mason jar.

I use the boveda 62. Never had a loss of smell or flavor, Ive stored up to a year no problem. I like to dry my bud enough so that when I jar it the hygrometer reads about 70%. Then I begin the daily burping of the jars to bring that number down to around 60%. Some strains take longer than others. I throw in a boveda pack then store the jars in a cool dark place.

Interesting to read the opinions. I've used bovedas a few times now and they seemed to steal the dank from it, especially over long term. Just my experience though. Might have to try a side by side between the two this round with a few jars. Always the 62's for proper range.

Boveda packs were developed/marketed for the cigar world not MJ, just so happens we found out they work damn good for MJ as well.

In the cigar world, there is a wide range of prefered humidity levels typically from 58% to 72%, as such Boveda produced several RH levels to accommodate their customers preferences.

Boveda actually makes packs from 32% to 84% used for various applications including for wood instruments

I find this weird as I've never had a problem since they have been released using the 62RH for a wide variety.. as that's what they base their product on (Retaining Terps and quality) I'd contact them..
