Only because I'm bothering everbody and filling the board. That lumber looks a bit wet and excessive for seedlings. Hope you just watered. Is the blurplle whole cycle or veg?
That's not mine there. Tho I did take pics after watering, I got rid of my blurples lol

Hey @HydroKid239 may I ask you a question?

I'm also using an SF1000 - How far away from canopy and what dimmer setting are you using for each stage of the grow? I was at 14 inches away with 100% power on week 2 of flower and it burned my plant. This is actually farther away than recommended distance (12 inches) so I'm a bit confused what would be appropriate so I don't lose this grow.

It was also a bit too strong in veg @ 24inches but I didn't realize it until I hit flower. (Noob grower) Now I'm trying to see what actually works for people who know what they are doing.

Thanks for your help!

Keep it dimmed for awhile lower vs higher. The plant will grow with little light vs get burned bad with too much light

24” for seedlings at 40%
20” once first set of multi bladed leaves are the size of a half dollar. 60%
18” once 2 sets of big fan leaves are out. 80%

I’m still at 80%. Once the tops climb up after LST I will raise it to 100. Be precise on watering when dry. Leaving the plants dry will harm the leaves with power at 100% for sure.

It really all depends on the plant too. If the leaves start pointing upward too much the light may be too far and the plant will stretch on you. If too close the edges of the leaves will curl on you.. leaves will start cupping inward. Dryness sets in and then it’s just bad.

Awesome. Super helpful. Looks like you end up at 18" 100% when she is mature. I'll give that a go after a day or two of 50% to let her recover.

Thanks so much! Really appreciate it.

Again it depends. Good seeds will be able to take the intensity gradually going up. I may keep them at 80% til flip and then go 100%. Unsure yet. They are blowing up under the 80% at 18" tho, so I may keep it there unless I see growth slow down.

Yeah, no kidding! She's looking at bit rough right now. The leaves started cupping but I couldn't understand why. Messed with the fan. Then they got pretty dry and I also thought I saw deficiency so I upped the nutes. Then it looked like she had both deficiency and nute burn at the same time and I had no idea what to do until I found an article describing light burn from led's at growweedeasy.com . It described everything I was seeing and explained why she was sucking up more nutes than I felt safe to give her.

Never thought about the light as it was further away than Spider Farmer suggested so I felt that was safe, at least until everything fell apart.

Oh well. I'm learning and getting better. Hopefully this will solve the issues and get me through to harvest in 3 or 4 weeks. Per your follow-up I think I'll keep her at 18"/75% just to be safe until I see a reason to up things.

Thanks again.

Don't just go from 50% to 80% gradually go up slowly each day. 50 to 60 60 to 70 70 to 80 ease into. Any sudden brightness of light longer than a couple hours will start showing on the plant. Ease into it. Also less light needed = less power used. Here's my girls ending day 7 of flower and I'm keeping my mars hydro fc3000 at 60% right now, because thats where I notice they seem the happiest. Thats using the fc3000 in a 3x3 space like recommended and I have it at least 25 inches above the plants. Probably much more. Haven't measured in a while ha.

True indeed. In veg all that light isn't needed. You can veg out 4 good weeks at 50%. In flower is where you want the bright light.. but you can't just jump into in like you said.

Yeah, I was gonna ramp it up slowly because now I'm a bit scared of burning her again, especially while she is stressed. Good to know this is the correct approach!
