I dont really change mine at all during cloning a set. I even let mine veg in it a couple weeks to get them big before transplant and just top it off. Has gone like 2 months like that.

Do you add any nutes or is it just straight tap water?

Tap, Dyna grow's KLN(rooting hormone)+ pro-tekt (silica), and a half dose of southern ag/hydroguard.
Starts like that until they get a few inches of root development then I add some very light nutrients. You dont need any nutrients to root clones, maybe some calmag if using ro water. I only add nutes once im ready to grow them for transplant.

My last batch, which was my first, had a similar look but eventually grew roots, these have been in the cloner 2 weeks and just look like rock candy, except white obv lol. Not sure if this is related.

tldr;
Do I empty and refill the aerocloner or just keep adding water when it gets low? Cuttings have been in there about 2 weeks and plan to leave them in for another 2 until they have big healthy roots. No rush in taking them out.

Hey bro, there is no need to change the rez. The secret trick to it is to put your clonex in and 1/4-1/8 strength base nutes. No need to pH the water I never do. Just top it up when needed. My roots poke out in 3 days and I take them out between day 7 to day 12. The reason why I put base nutes is the longer they stay in there the leaves start to to yellow. Ive done a side by side comparison no pics sadly but the ones that had the base nutes in did not yellow after 12 days like the ones with just clonex.

I’ve always used clonex solution or a small amount of bloom nutes with tap water. I change my res weekly. If I ever get lazy and skip a week I add some H2O2.

Going to give this recipe a try next time though.

How long do they usually take to root in a cloner and what's a suitable water temp for it? Thinking about making my own.
