Biden is certainly better than any republican asshole, but he's also 76 years old. He was a leading voice in the War on a Few Drugs and jailing minorities earlier in his career.
He does not support legalization.
He does do the bare minimum in recognizing states have rewritten the rules as paralysis by analysis has gripped DC on the issue of legalization for decades. So I guess that's something.

That is not legalization, and I'm not trying to be overly critical of Biden, but he's a politician and has to cover that angle of attack from his opponents. Thus the luke warm pot policy.
Remember when Obama had a supermajority in congress for two years in 2008 and we all thought legalization was at hand? Sigh....

I’m for decriminalization as well: so far, “legalization” has meant highly regulated monopolies based on big bucks upfront, with huge tax hauls for jurisdictions. I’m in the “free like tomatoes“ camp. I want to grow what I want, as much as I want, and do with it what it want. I find the establishment of another layer of law enforcement to be...unwelcome.
I remember a lot of folks figured Obama would ‘legalize it’...but I’ve always suspected there was too much pressure on him to “restrain his black impulses”, so to speak. Remember, he said, if you want me to do something, you’ve got to make me, with public pressure in favor of what you want: he was well aware that being a black president conveyed no magic.
I don’t consider decriminalization to be “lukewarm”...but I *DO*believe that it should vacate state and local laws that were made following the lead of federal prohibition. If states and locales want to to re-enter prohibition *today* they should be required to sell it to today’s civil majority - not simply continue a junked policy. From a failed past.

Everything is regulated. Im surprised farmers can still have little stands in their front yards. Hell some places are even cracking down on lemonade stands. Even alcohol has endless red tape. Can only brew 50 gallons a year, cant distill, cant sell it, etc etc etc. The states that went legal early on ended up signing themselves into very strict laws that will likely take decades to change.

I’d love to know what remediation time alone will bring. From my friends in CO, I get the message that the plant count restrictions are extremely unpopular - how much time might it take for those restrictions to be lessened, and the numbers expanded? Michigan (I believe) is permitting the rough equivalent of road-side produce stands - any idea how long it might take for CA, OR, WA to take up modification of their tax-centered, money-oriented structures and restrictions?
Not trying to call you out, or anything...just, these things matter to me, and I believe they matter to the overall welfare of the cannabis-using public.

I'm on CO, and I have no problem with the plant count rules. With my wife, I can grow 12 plants, with half flowering. I love CO. I lived in Truckee CA back in the day, but overall California has gotten crazy. So has my hometown of Seattle. No thanks. The West Coast isn't the same as it use to be. The people there have changed. I love everything else about the West Coast though.
One plant alone can give you a decent amount. Just chopped this one.

If you're talking about that clone only Green Crack. I got about 1/2# if you include the popcorn. I also harvested it a little earlier than I normally do, so it would've been more if I waited another couple weeks. I usually go about 70 day plus or minus a few, but this time I chopped at day 59. A week or so after that pic was taken.
In CO we can each grow 6 plants, but can only possess an ounce per person. 2 ounces if you have a Med card. One plant is tooooo much, lol.

Colorado sounds similar to mass, we can have 6 x 2(if 2 adults are over 21 in house ) can keep 10oz post harvest (no one ever checks) and we can buy beans in store. so far no clones but we got an app called mass roots very similar to a trade show can freely share genetics but no money making. personally as a homegrower with no intent to sell this works excellent for me and I could careless if some corporate asshats make millions opening a dispensary, they don't get my money

There might be something in your laws that states you may posses anything produced by your grow as long as its locked up. Thats how it is here. But here a single adult can grow 12 plants which is much better.

Some of the individual state laws are ridiculous, for example in MT, both the current medical law and the recreational initiative being voted on right now allow 4 mature and 4 immature plants....and one ounce of cannabis. Most states at least say the obvious, being that you get to keep what you harvest from your legal plant numbers-not Montana-though in reality the police don't seem to mess with anyone on the registry.

legalization seems to only favor those with enormous capital and friends with the various gov regulatory commissions; creates "cartel" and when it does go fed legal big tobacco will come in and corner the market share
