Looking at this on Amazon - price is cheap as fuck, know it’s a budget light but uses SM301B LEDs so maybe not as terrible as others... wondering if anyone out there has used em. Really want a Timber Redwood but cash is tight

For sure - the actual draw is only 200w, I’m looking at something budget priced for a 2x3 space for 2 dwc or autopot plants. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with these lights - it’s either this or a spider farmer until I have the dough for the Timber

Yup I definitely see the value, hydro is pretty cheap where I’m from, but if you’re running a true LED equivalent to 600W hps year round, the addnl cost of the LED is paid off pretty quickly in hydro savings.
Truth is I finally convinced my wife to let me grow again, but have to but my kit allll over again and she’s be pissed if I dropped $1K on a light, then another $1k on all the other shit

Can also look at htg supply raw series, using samsung mid power on the cheaper side for a prebuilt with US warranty.

I was looking at these also. The same LEDs as units that are going for USD 300, for only 200. However, they don't use the Meanwell drivers that the more expensive units do.

I ended up going with the HLG 260w kit. Looking at the power draw, the Phlizon should be about 77% as powerful as the HLG. Going on specs alone, at 60% of the price, it would appear to be a better bargain... but I opted for the HLG due to the use of the Meanwell driver, and their reputation.

Yea the driver definitely is reflected in the price of the cheaper one - it just seemed like the better Samsung diodes was the trade off to still make it a good value. For the price of the HLG I'd have a hard time not buying one of the better Timber set ups - they look insane when in use. That Redwood at $750US seems like a really good price for what you get. I haven't seen the ones in the $1200+ range in use in a grow yet, they are all strip/bar LED set-ups

I've done tons of closet grows in bubbler buckets, and what I've found is that they work best if you give them a 2x2 footprint.
Using top-tier lm301b(or h) diodes, it'll take 120 watts/plant to achieve adequate light levels.
If you're planning on sticking with that space, I'd look at a 240-watt fixture in whatever form factor works best in your space.

thanks! I figured 2 decent sized plants was pretty much max. What has your yield been like using that set-up?

The closet grows were all on random autoflowers.
Yield was typically 6-10 oz/plant dried flower.
This was a test run with a 200-watt cookie sheet fixture I made for a friend.
