why my plants are so lanky please

Truth! My first grow was with t-12’s in a closet from bag seed 25 years ago. I remember it being good smoke but SFA for yield.

I don’t think it was a jab at OPs light but more to the fact that it was marketed as a 600w and he was deceived by a shady LED company.

Sf 1000 is 100w, and it's being tested right now in a 2x2 tent by @Wizzlebiz you should check out the thread.
Draw from the wall isn't really that useful for LEDs.
I’d say the draw from the wall is very useful to know so you can tell if you are getting what you think you paid for? Definitely not saying all 100w lights are created equal.

The draw from the wall is the most important factor in any light.

It says on the second page "actual wattage = 100 +-5%" so yeah, that is a 100 watt light.

You need more light.

This is a true 600 watt LED light: https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/collections/all/products/hlg-600-rspec
The guy is growing two little plants in what looks like a 2x2, he doesn't need actual 600w of LED dude. A good quality 150-200W would be more his size.

OP, it's not the best light, but 100W is workable for one or two small plants, just don't expect a lot. You're not going to get massive yields from it, but it will grow something. Keep the light on 24hrs while you veg. Save up and get something better when you can. I grew smokable bud with far worse my first time.
this is good to hear as I’d be happy with yeilding 2oz tbh, the first plant I did when I was 15 I only got a 1/2 so long as it’s more than that ha
how long would you veg this for in this amount of space?

I think you can do it. But you'll need to veg for awhile longer to fill the space out best you can. You've already topped the bigger one which is good. I might go one step further and LST it, just to keep it around that hieght if it keeps stretching and let the younger one catch up. then you could flip to 12/12 flower.

Ya looking at the specs it looks like this light is using using older Samsung diodes. Not the worst, but there's better available now. Better brands would have diodes that use that 100W more efficiently with a better CRI.

With only 2 plants , this is your best idea.... lst them to fill up your area. 100 watts aint much but it can work and can work a lot better then most think. 25watt per sq ft is enough to get decent buds.

Thanks, will look into LST

lm281b+ yes they are older but they are not much less efficient then newer models. 160lm per watt is great ! There are only a couple samsung diodes that are more efficient. lm301b and H is the highest on the market and i believe the lm561c+ might be a tad higher at 170lm per watt ish. As far as numbers are concerned , you did great if it was cheap.

I once saw a guy trying to grow in an ice cube tray under a 40w reg bulb. You’re far from that brother! You will learn a tonne on this run and again on your next. Measure your success against your last crop and not the pics you see online.

If I had any advice for a new grower....use coco! When you see issues, flush. It’s a very forgiving medium.

I've had this discussion a few times, so short version, there are too many factors to take into account for draw from the wall to be accurate for LEDs.
If it's actively cooled, how many of those watts are for the fan?
How efficient are the diodes?
How much of the power going in gets lost as heat?
A 100w quantum board from this year is going to grow far better weed than a 100w 10 year old Chinese blurple.
Same watts from the wall.

OP: sorry for the brief hijack, I still think @Rurumo is right. Unless you're getting a better light soon, try to move it closer to your plants and they should stop stretching.

These questions are super easy math with a data sheet.

Yes , obviously this is true. LED has came a LONG way in 10 years.

Yes, they are, and that's where you'll find the info you need. It really doesn't matter how many watts it uses if you know what the ppfd is at what height. If you know that, the wattage, both used and claimed equivalence, are irrelevant.
I'm not going to start an argument here, don't want to add to the mods workload. If you want to discuss this further, please dm me.

@Jambo94 have you said how big your tent/space is? 100w in a 2x2 is perfect for vegging. 25 watt/sq foot veg, 40 watt/sq foot for bloom is pretty good
