Just a “heads up”, HLG has several lights of their most expensive lights up for sale that are refurbished at nice savings with a warranty. Responsive customer service and quick shipping. Also, their entire R Spec Line is on sale.
*No affiliation with HLG, I’ve been watching horticulture lightening closely the past 2.5 years and saw this deal pop up on their website a few weeks ago. Just purchased my first light, a 550 R Spec - refurbished - used “Dude” for an additional 10% off for a grand total of $539.10 shipped.
I will be adding the HLG UV Bar when it’s available and I’ve added the 2 Rapid Led Far Red Innitiator (730nm) pucks that I will permanently affix to the HLG 550 R Spec

You do realize that I am pointing out that there are several options out there and this one is guaranteed top bin Samsung’s, an actionable warranty and fast shipping right? I have nothing against Chinese Lights, but please... regale us with your exciting stories about how many qb boards you can purchase from China, with little to no understanding/confirmation as the source of your actual diodes. Is that worth a few dollars versus the value above? Evidently for you it’s is... For me it’s not. Enjoy your day.

I personally love HLG, but I think his point was that this thread is about Chinese knockoffs of HLG's work, so the people in this thread don't really want to hear about the authentic shit. Same as the folks in the Quantum Boards thread don't wanna see knockoff crap posted there. Everyone needs to stay in the proper lane, or risk being flipped the bird.

I agree his boards aren't the same. They might be similar, but like you said there are some differences. I think his post was a knee-jerk reaction to you posting a great deal on HLG refurbished gear, and him silently kicking himself for getting knock-off gear himself. Keep in mind, that poster is someone who bought Mars crap in the past, and kicked himself later for buying the crap. Will likely happen again. Some never learn.

The heatsinks and drivers were included. I just pointed out how much I spent compared to the “refurbished” deals they have on hlg. I spent 1400 on two es300s before knowing about alibaba. I don’t want someone making the same mistake I did.
