The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

My concern was too much light. At 40 watts my weed was super larfy, when I first bought these I ran them at like 50 watts and that was wayyyyy too much light haha. Yeah I’m not worried about 30 watts not being enough light but I want to use as much light as I can without screwing up quality
Bud density isn't all to do with light though. A lot of growers use too much nitrogen in their bloom feed to ever get good solid flowers. forty watts p/f should be more than enough for solid buds.

Thats rather strange. We run something similar amount of lm561c diodes per area, about 3200 over a 4x4, with 2x 240 drivers, so about 30w per foot and have absolutely no airy bud. I dont think your missing light unless its hanging very high. What temps? Veg time etc? You most definitely have enough light i think.
I thought you ran 3 800s over a 4x4..
And is Rita still making the lm561c boards she keep pushing me to get the B

We got 4 of those fotops over a 1m x 1.5m section, with 2x240 drivers running them. Its yielding solid and hangs about 4-6" over the cannopy.
It seems trickier today to get good diodes from the alibubbers, samsung seems like theyre in less supply. Ive been playing with the idea of getting boards made locally, using cree diodes as theyve come down a lot in price, especially in comparison with sammies.

Edit: you might take note here: so Rita is pushing for Lm561b; used to be a time where they would normally just stick the Bs on the board and sell them as Cs. This to me is a good indication, at least she seems to be seeling what theyve got and not whatever you say you want.

I mean she trying to push the lm301b I want the c. The b cost over 30 extra per board....and damn I was basing my order around me being able to do 3 boards per 4x4. Rita would give me a deal on the more expensive boards but not the c

It’s going to cost me 1700$ more with B not so simple
Ok i got you. So about 10 x 4x4. Comercial? It might actually be an idea to go with the Bs even though they dont mean all that much gain. It might also be that they dont have the pcb that goes with the c in stock, but might be able to put another cheaper 3030 diode on it. Dont know.

With that much more, i would go with 561
Just 5% more of them.

I would just buy them (lm301 ) if they cost me less then 5 maybe 10% Of the cost for lm561

Hope you can understand me ;)

Is it worth paying that much more she discounted them by around 13$ per board. And I have some left over C boards I would add these new boards to. So for a 4x4 I should go with 4 boards? That’s how I currently have my tables setup but with the slim 800 boards(4 boards on a 4x3 frame). I was going to use these wider boards and supp red/up strips between the boards.

Ok maybe my math wrong but idk how here’s the difference...
if you need lm561c 800, we have to make new PCB, the best deal for you is USD79.88X49+shipping cost 597+processing fee 99=USD4610
B boards
USD115.36X49+shipping cost by sea to door 597+processing fee 99=USD5541

Nope don’t understand the edit you added..what I thought you meant was just buy more of the 561 to make up for the less efficient diodes given how much more the 301 cost...I thought I could skimp with having only 3 boards per 4x4 if the coverage isn’t right I’ll have to stick to my original 4 per 4x4 and I would most likely have to get the cheaper boards. Which she won’t discount

And why did you split between those two 240 drivers and not one 480? Cost?
Well must not be cost I see a 3$ difference between the two.

You can defo use 3 per 4x4 and get great coverage. We use 4 over whats actually more like a 3x5. I dont know how to make 4 wide fotops fit well over a 4x4.
As for diode if its just a matter of 25$ per board or about 900 for the entire order id go for the Bs.

How are those skinny fotops working out for you? Ive been thinking of getting a few in to play with.
Less spread but you can get more of them over your cannopy. Also easier to do red sup and similar with more even spread. How hard can you run that before you need a heatsink?

240 drivers: is what we got lying around also it gives you the chance to run side boards a bit harder. I hear the 240s is one of the less prone to break, according to the guys at hlg who have actual numbers on this stuff.

Ok that’s great to hear, I’ll re run my numbers and make sure that’s the right amount of boards I need. With 3 per fixture I plan to alternate the red and uv strips between the boards with 4 total strips per fixture. I’m sure at one point I ran each board at 150watts each and didn’t have a problem but usually I run 4 boards between 450-480watts in total. I never use heat sinks except on a old order of 312s. I don’t know much about the Bs I’ll look it up if you think it’s worth the extra cash.

Oh ok I’ll just stick with the 480s then don’t need more plugging.

Is that 150w per slim board? Did they get hot to the touch?
Tbh if you wanna do color supplements between the boards id probably go with the slim boards, and use one of the kingbrite mono strips, they have some that are about the same length as the fotop.

How much does Rita want for the lm561c boards? You can buy lm561c strips 288 diode from digikey, that’s what I just did.. well actually I take that back I was going to get the 288 diode strips (4’) and I ended up getting the 144 diode (2’), 160 of them cost 2550 after everything all said and done with 2 day shipping..

I’m sure they got a little warm I had fans blowing on them don’t really remember did it at the end of flower for a under performing table.. Check out this product on Alibaba App Kingbrite QB52 Epistar 660nm + 730nm (Emerson effect) Grow Booster Strip (PCBA only) https://m.alibaba.com/product/62419253312/Kingbrite-QB52-Epistar-660nm-730nm-Emerson.html?__sceneInfo={"type":"appDetailShare","data":{"filterKey":"7.8.2_share","cacheTime":"1800000"}} these is what I was planing on using since I’ll have roughly over a foot of space on the fixture
