Just curious how everyone feels about the pipeline being canceled. Is it going to lower emissions or is it just optics? I think it will mostly be optics in regards to the global warming reductions but still optics can be good thing.
After falling into the trap of reading the trolling, I had a thought.
Since we need to 'New Deal' level response to everything going on right now. And instead of thinking small with the pipeline. Use those train tracks to tear them all up and dig the pipeline under a whole new rail system.
And that entire infrastructure going into those rails can also contain rural piped water/electricity/whatever I don't even know enough about to include in a underground grid that could get laid at the same time.
They could also redo the crumbling roads/highways with it as we go have a way to plug in new pathways over time (no reason to dig up new roads now, but in 50years there will be something for them to plug new lines into).
But for now they could do the 1st rail/pipe system and not have to go through ripping apart new land.
Im sure it would be expensive as hell, but if this is that profitable, it would be worth getting a estimate.
do people not believe in natural selection anymore? wtf.
compassion is just a byproduct of neurotransmitters regulating the dopamine and serotonin in your brain. its all instinct. get over it.
The troll definition of it or the actual science?
What you said was pretty fucked up.
So basically the argument is the not in my backyard. Ship the oil from Venezuela have the odd sea disaster and deal with political instability. The us uses 20mil gpd of oil canada supplies 3.5mil a day not even a 1/5th of what usa needs. Its pretty irrelevant stopping that pipeline that wasnt going to be even a mil bpd. Usa needs oil to drive your gdp so its really just political postering. Until everyone stops using oil which isnt happening in our lifetime figure out where you want to buy it from. You ship oil out on pipelines to the east coast and dont want to ship oil in its pot calling the kettle black.
Nah, it is get off the need to burn everything as a society.
It is just laziness and a handful of rich people keeping us on the tit.
