Sorry I should of said I live in the UK.
Hoping someone could point me in the right way. May seem simple but could someone tell me what soil or compost to get and what feed would be best. I haven't started planting but want to have things in place before I start. Any help is appreciated.
Do you have nutrients already picked out, or was the soil your first stop?
If you haven't already purchased bottled nutrients, then you should look into organics which will determine where you begin looking into soils. Some people mix their own, some purchase pre-made living soils to begin and then just continue on with organics from there.
If you've already purchased bottled nutrients or anything inorganic, then it really doesn't matter what your soil is so long as you dont purchase one with time released nutrient pellets.
You need to figure out HOW your going to grow, and it will be easier to make a suggestion. If you wanted to go organic (so much more fun imo and what id suggest), then you can buy all the inputs you need, mix your own soil, and have killer plants. And the best part is you recycle everything, and the more you do the better everything gets.
But again, it depends on what u want to do. Bottled nutrients can be super easy with a proper feeding schedule and good quality nutrients. Organics can be very fun and rewarding. Choose a grow method that works for you, and then I'll try my best to help u out with a soil suggestion
