All my bud ended up looking great and good smell but taste kinda harsh and not like it smells with black ash as well.I dumped about a 5 gallon bucket of clean water into a 7 gallon fabric pot only had a chance to let them sit about 5 days after the flush because spider mites were attacking. Why dose the bud tast harsh I did use some 209 spidermite solution once about 5 days before the flush and a little neem oil pretty close to harvest
Flushing will help absolutely none of that. You’re looking in the wrong direction. But I know you won’t believe it so flush away.

Then learn to actually dry and cure.

My dry and cure is on point I’ve battled that already probably a combination of bull shit I’m guessing but thanks on the been oil info I have used it in the past with no bad taste as well

What do you call "on point?" I don't think so..

Dry in a 50% RH area.
Once the stems crack and not just "bend" over, it's time to start the cure.
Jar it up and burp them everyday for a cpl of weeks and then let it sit for 4 more. 8 weeks total is better.

You can also put in 58 or 62% Bovida packs and just let them sit for the whole 8 weeks.

Just so you "know".
You can not flush nutrients from plants by running a shit ton of water through the pot.

As far as simply not feeding and letting them "fade" till finish?

This simply starves the plant of food at a critical time.
Not to mention that the plant will simply "move" nutrient's from being stored in the roots and leaves etc.
Right TO the buds - just where your attempting to remove it from...

PROPER DRY AND CURE

Don't forget dry rooms temps as well

Obviously something when you are getting black ash. I don’t flush. Plain water twice at the end is it plus I’ve chopped after accidentally feeding. White ash. Great taste. Dried properly. Black ash is from retained moisture. Not nute holdover.
I use to grow for many years just getting back to it and trying new things and my dry and cure is good I used to dry in 5 days and throw it in a ziplock and it was always fire and clean tasting

Here on rolliup, people are touchy about "flushing" I swear I can taste it when plants aren't flushed. Others with disagree. Also bear in mind that organic growers don't flush, and they don't understand the EC/ppm we chemical folks run... And that our friends will call us out on unflushed bud.

I agree that neem smells like ass. If I have to use ANY pest control in flower, I wash my buds with chlorinated water or peroxide at the very least.
Well, I don't use neem.... I use sevindust :fire: obviously not in late flower*

*sevindust is REAL poison, it's NOT soap and essential oils lol

I agree, look at bud washing for next time. This batch is fucked.

Comment on the no flush community but uses seven dust on or around cannabis. That would make all my bud instantly unsellable when it comes from the labs. I don't flush, grow commercially and have stellar test results and remarks from those that get my bud. I'm not fully organic anymore either. Sounds like you may not know what you're doing and yet give advice.

Yes, but any bud with a noticeable neem taste would probably fail the same tests.
I don't use sevindust in flower, only veg. I generally only use on soil, and the floor of the veg box. It's not absorbed by the plants, and under ideal dry conditions has a half life of ~60 days. In wet conditions it's about 4 days.
I reverse water soil in air pots, there's no way anything stays dry for 48 hours, I SUBMERGE my pots in water.

If I have mites, then yes I use the sevin directly on my foliage in *veg*. This will be washed off in 48 hours in most cases. I have never used it beyond the first day from flipping to 12/12.

I don't doubt that some nutrients leave no negative taste, but when I used general hydro flora, I could definitely taste something weird if I didn't flush... The biggest problem is a tiring smoke, something that makes you want to extinguish a blunt/joint before it's a roach. That was reality for me on unfinished plants on my old schedule.
But yes, I defend saying that neem oil tastes bad..... I mean.... It does.

I'm on Jack's now, and so really don't taste a difference flushed or not. I give ph'd water for the last ~2-3days myself.

Edit, I'm proficient at hydro and salt-soil, I don't know *dick* about organics. I grew full time with a partner for couple years. The grow was surrounded by moldy forest, and bugs. Beneficial predators and bacteria never cut it for us. Everything had to be nearly sterile, or it would rot. We became bleach enthusiasts.
So I'm the far opposite from organic, I mean no disrespect to organic growers, it just never panned out for me.

I have a nice environment now, no mold or bacteria..... But there were mites killing my landscaping last year (came from a nursery, a Japanese maple). Enter sevindust. Then my veg box got infested by mites; ?? Sevindust???

I’m thinking it’s what I sprayed my plants with and the 209 was put in the water and has lots of rosemary in it.I do like this formula but maybe not for bud cycle

I submerge ie flood my tables I don't mess with neem at all. IF I need to use something I go with Marrion bio. Neem won't fail a test it's just a no for me.

I just hate neem because the PH was ~9 in the last stuff I tried. It actually destroyed my young clones.

A couple poofs of sevindust won't even stress clones hardly.

I'm aware that it it's not cleaned extremely thoroughly, I will have irreversible lung damage. This is my personal smoke, I may barter with a friend if they are dry for a couple days.

I grew with a partner for a couple years with good success, but we were next to a river in the woods. Like I said, we were bleach enthusiasts!

I have probably only grown 100lb dry. I'm not a chemist or a pro, but growing in moist/infected areas is my specialty.
I took pride in *dosing* my DWC buckets with bleach back then. We called it our most important nutrient. We played the "not enough amps" game for 2 years

I'm all about being sterile, and training my plants like it's a fetish.

final flush won't help with bad taste/ black ash

you need to avoid salt accumulations during the grow, thats what accumulate bad elements in the buds

keep the ec in your medium under control, controle your runoff and will never get bad taste again

doing a final flush and make the plant yellow will worsen the things and kill your quality

WOW , we have came a LONG way in 12 years.... i used to say that all the time here on RIU and would get laughed out of my own thread by the WHOLE community.... finally we have learned a bit more about dirt.
I just let it roll off my back like a duck and kept on fighting the good fight.
