Simple question ... the title says it all.

My outdoor girls are just beginning to bloom.

Throw some healthy natural ideas out at me to make them happier and juicier.

- ideally not specialist Branded stuff that I need to buy.
- stuff I can collect, or brew, or ferment.

Like:

Fresh Kelp
- from my local beach
- fermented with Blackstrap Molasses

Worm Castings

- from my worm farm
- fermented with Blackstrap Molasses

Lactobacillus

- leftover sour cream fermented with
- fermented with Rice Water + Blackstrap Molasses

Potash

- leftover from braai/barbecue
- wood fire only
- no charcoal - no briquettes - no firelighters

Calcium
- eggshells crushed to powder

What else y'all got for me ?

I'm listening.

Thanks ... good idea.
I do want to break them down/biodegrade them more quickly now for Flowering feed.

Check my sig

Other than my starter potting soil, and the initial nursery compost ... absolutely everything has gone through my worm bin
... and absolutely everything that comes out of my worm bin has been through a worm's guts

They are:
- low heat cold composters
- only take out 50% of the nutritive value
- degrade the rest down into root friendly plant useful 'molecules' and compounds (not all the way down to elements)
- and their excretions are choc full of microbial life and rhizobacteria

molasses eh :)
Blackstrap Molasses - NB without sulphates or preservatives - is alive and rich with rhizobacteria.

Feed the microbes.
They will feed the soil.
The soil will feed the rhizosphere.
The rhizosphere makes higher level nutrients available to the plant roots.
Your plant roots feed your plant.

This is the reasoning behind living organic soils.

Happier plants.
Healthier plants.
Bigger juicier buds.

More flavourful smoke.
More resin.
More turpenes.
More flavonoids.

And you can reuse the soil every year and it mellows and matures and only gets better with age.

I love alfalfa-you can't go wrong with it, and you can topdress some Langbeinite-this is a great "bloom booster" due to the high potassium, magnesium and SULFUR content, just don't overdo it, strong stuff.

Adding one more discovery from some online research:

Banana tea
... and guess what ?
... there's that damn molasses again

Two sources:

This fruit is known for being one of the most potassium-rich natural products. Potassium is a key element, which is used in all stages of cannabis plant development, and is also one of the three main macronutrients component of NPK (you can see it on the label), which we can all see in regular commercial fertilizers.

Potassium helps the plant assimilate sugars, starches and carbohydrates in general, which is why it is so essential for the plant’s flowering, as it helps to increase energy reserves and the construction of complex carbohydrates that give structure to leaves, stems and buds.

Potassium is also essential because it is associated with the biosynthesis of proteins related to terpenes, the absorption of water by the roots and the regulation of the stomata cell guards for its opening and closing.

In addition to this essential element, banana tea also provides amino acids assimilated by the plant so that we can say that it is an organic-mineral fertilizer.

A good way to prepare this potassium-rich fertilizer tea is as follows: boil 3 to 5 banana peels in one liter of water, adding 2 tablespoons of molasses, honey or sugar cane. Once the mixture is cold, we remove the banana peels and the resulting liquid is mixed with 2 more liters of water, shake well and our homemade banana fertilizer is ready to water our cannabis directly.
This tea is applied during the last six weeks of flowering. With this you will get up to 20% more fattening in your buds. It is a kind of PK that we use to make the flowers gain weight, density and hardness, since the dry skins of the bananas basically contain these elements:

  • Phosphorus…………………… 3.25%
  • Potassium…………………… 45%
A good fertilizer for marijuana, without a doubt, one of the best.

FLOWERING STIMULATOR: BANANA TEA BLEND

• How banana tea benefits cannabis plants

It’s essential for flowering cannabis plants to have a good amino acid supply. Potassium helps the plant assimilate sugars, starches, and carbohydrates. Banana peels help to increase energy reserves and assist in the construction of complex carbohydrates that give structure to leaves, stems, and buds.

Potassium is also crucial as it aids in the biosynthesis of proteins related to terpenes, the absorption of water by roots, and the regulation of stomata cell guards (for opening and closing).

To help increase your yield, prepare a mix of banana tea, honey, and molasses during the last six weeks of flowering.

• How to make banana tea at home

Boil three banana peels in 1 litre of water; add a little sugar, honey, and molasses. Once the mixture is cold, remove the banana peels and use the resulting liquid to irrigate your marijuana plants.
